Maf you hate everything. Plus platformers always have lots of shite to collect.

I've come the the conclusion that everything is shite apart from Dark Souls.

Jesus Fade, I played the Jungle & Fiesta Run to death but let people enjoy this if they want to. It seems to be getting good reviews. I'll pick it up once it hits Android.

You should give Adventures a go too, it's lot's better in my opinion, free and feels like a fully fledged game.

People are just going to play this because it's Mario, there are much better platformers on mobile, just trying to shine a light on them.

Of course people can enjoy what they want, but this is a game that pretty much plays itself unless you are worried about the collectables. I just don't think many people on here would enjoy it, it's not the least bit challenging.

Seems good; pretty relaxing, colourful and the collectibles provide more of a challenge if required. Doubt I'll buy the full game but then I never do.

Fade, all your posts in this thread are about another game. It's insufferably annoying when people do that.

One of them has been, the other was comparing this game to another game that does everything this game does better (in my opinion)

Anyways, if you don't have time to watch the giant bomb video this sums it up:

I don't really like Super Mario Run, but that is absolute bollocks. For one, it actually is challenging if you play further than "a few levels". Two, the coins are the whole strawberry floating point. If you're not "worried about the collectables" you're literally playing a quarter of the game.

You're not though. You're playing all of the game. For example, if I finish Knack or Crash Bandicoot and don't get all of the collectables, I've still played all of the game. The collectables are just there as way to get people to replay the levels over and over again, which is especially showing considering there are tiers of coins that appear one after another.

And as for the challenge, I might be wrong, but the 'enemies' can't kill you (apart from boos), and you can jump on the cannonballs in one of the stages that actually looked difficult.

Also, it sounds silly, but I hate how if there are 2 boxes next to each other you can only get one of them

Oh would you seriously strawberry float off? What is your problem?

I could have used any game with collectables as an example.

I've changed it (to a much superior game ), there happy?

You know what's worse than me comparing Mario to another platformer, you trying to tell me I'm wrong when you haven't even played it.

You haven't really played it either. You deleted it after a few levels and then watched a Giant Bomb video. You probably didn't even try Toad Rally mode.

You're right, but having some experience of a game is better than having none. Especially when you're trying to poke holes in people's posts.

Fact is that this game is a lot easier than traditional Mario games, which I don't like, and it doesn't even feel like Mario, they throw so many conventions out of the window.

It literally feels like they licensed the game out to a mobile developer. Some people might like that, I don't. I was hoping this would be a faithful conversion like Rayman was (which is why I brought it up, as an example, to show that it can be done).

Some experience is better than none, you're right. But coming into a thread to repeatedly offer opinions on a game you must have spent all of ten minutes playing isn't exactly a good look either. I tend to agree with you on the feel of it, for what it's worth. I just don't think you can offer a worthwhile rebuttal to folks who are enjoying it when you've dismissed it before you're into the meat of the game. If you don't want to carry on playing it, there's nothing wrong with that, but just say you didn't enjoy your time with it and move on rather than making claims you can't back up.

I really don't think anyone should say a Mario game is easy after only playing 3 levels. This is practically the same thing that happens in every Mario ever. Hell, the first 3 worlds are normally piss easy.

Eurogamer were saying the first 3 levels, as they always are, are a good introduction to the mechanics of the game just like the NES. Many people playing this, millions of them, won't have played a Mario game for 20+ years.

This isn't a game for you Fade, and that's fine. But you should probably stop running in circles because yeah, your juice has run out, what with the limited observations you can make spending so little time with something and so just end up banging on about something else.

Of course the point is to replay and get the collectables.. that's every platformer ever made. I don't see the problem.

If you want something decent play Super Mario 3D Land. This is less than a third of the price and is aimed as a step up from other mindless infinite runners. That's literally Nintendo's strategy is to not release full featured franchise titles on mobile devices as they'd cannibalise their own hardware completely and sink the company, becoming dependent on the likes of Apple. This is not good. For anyone.

Also recognising mobile games are not mostly not challenging is like saying jelly wobbles if you poke it.

It was licensed out to a mobile developer too.. only it's a capital partnership.

Basically don't overrate this game before you've downloaded it. I'll have ago on my iPad at some point and then choose between 100 proper Mario games. This is for the zombies at Apple conferences.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."
