I don't think glitched/out of bounds balloons are too bad since you know, technically it's Nintendo's fault. Trouble is finding out how to do it. Like in Mushroom Kingdom you can clip through the bridge with the moped and get out of bounds but I can't seem to get it to work at all. Then in Seaside Kingdom there seems to be out of bounds balloons everywhere. There used to be an easy glitch to get out of bounds with a Gushen but it got patched so I have no idea how people are doing it now. Getting out of bounds is relatively easy in Metro and Lost Kingdom, but they made it so that if you do it during a Balloon game it drops you back at the starting point. So they might patch it like this for everywhere else in the game at some point.

One thing I'm finding annoying as of recently is that no one seems to be attempting my balloons at all, so, no money for me. I'd like to think it's because they look like they're difficult to find so people don't bother with it since it's all about that $$$. Was pretty proud of my moon kingdom balloon too. Ah well.

Spent 5-6 hours on Balloon World over the weekend and it’s really a lot of fun. It’s quite addictive figuring out where people are hiding them and very satisfying finding them. I’ve got enough coins to max out the moons and get all the costumes.

I don’t think I’ll play it too much more. Got to level 25 and for a free addition and excuse to revisit and explore the worlds it’s great but once you’ve figured out the main hiding places it becomes fairly easy to know where to go.

Bought this last night off the shop. It's my first ever Mario game (I'm excluding MK8 in this statement)

Let's see how I get on with it

So, played this in fits and starts and....it’s ok. I know everyone will say it’s the best game ever and I’m trying to keep an open mind on it. Just got to New Donk City having done 4 or 5 worlds. It’s just a bit simplistic I guess for me but not yet outstaying its welcome although I can’t play more than 30-45 mins at a time.

How many worlds do I have to get through from New Donk City or is this it? I’m not fussed about 100% completion on this

Yeah it got a lot of praise but they definitely made it easier than SM3DW. I've just completed the main game but there is tons left to do not sure if i want to start tracking down every last moon.It must be hard keeping the Mario games fresh for Nintendo as this is not too different to the last one

Played this for the first time with the missus today, co-op. We got to the desert kingdom and then I started to get tired of it. It's pretty good, but TBH I'm just not feeling it.

It's a gorgeous and thoroughly adorable game, but I feel like I've seen it all before. Desert environs are usually just exercises in tedium to me, something to skim past to get somewhere better. The temple looks interesting though. And is there even a reward for tearing down all of Bowser's posters?

Edit: The temple is alright.

I'm sorry but what is going on in here?

This is clearly a great game. I do a little bit of throw up in my mouth when people even bring up a comparison to SM3DW.

Odd, as this is my first Mario game since Galaxy 1 I though they did a good job of coming up with unique and original locations for the game, each world has its own character.

It’s completely different to SM3DW though? Odyssey has big open levels, whereas SM3DW is much more linear with A>B style levels. Plus location wise, Odyssey’s levels are very different in style to the more traditional levels of SM3DW.

Kicked back into this last night and got all the moons from Sand and Metro Kingdoms (bar the skipping one :dread: ). Tried the Darkerer side of the Moon level and kept dying in the same spot so gave in.

The main game is fab, the collecting all the moons post game is not that good though, think there's way too many so it becomes a fair bit of a chore moreso than anything.

Aka the biggest disappointment ever. It's a decent game, but it's not a '3D Mario' in the same sense it was lead up to be.

I can understand people not liking Odyssey. It is rather simplistic for a majority of the moons. But for me, the exploration factor, the well-designed worlds, and just the strawberry floating smooth ass movement in the game makes Odyssey a great game. Just moving and jumping around the levels is fun imo, even if the end goal isn't always that satisfying. There are some great levels and interesting gameplay designs tho, so it definitely holds up decently at the very least.
