Seeing Devlin play Sunshine recently just reminded me of all the irritating little bits that make it such a pain in the arse.

Terrible

Super Mario Sunshine was a brilliant game.

Even if it's deemed the worst in the 3D Mario series it still makes it top 5 3D platformer of all time imo.

Had it not been for the blue coins I think people would love Mario Sunshine a lot more. It's really good outside of that.

The problem with Sunshine was the level/world design. All the fiddly little corridors, intricate details that made the camera a pain.

3D Mario is at its best in much more basic surroundings.

As I said on t'other threads, I hope this is a launch title. It will literally be a system seller*.

* Insofar as I will buy one.

I am one of those weirdos who prefers Sunshine to 64, because of the levels without Fludd, those are incredible and for the first time take the original Super Mario Bros style platforming into 3D, the Galaxy games are of course light years ahead of Sunshine, likewise 3D Land (I've not played enough 3D World to say anything about it).

I got all 120 stars in 64 and loved it, but for me Sunshine's Fluddless levels are gaming nirvana.

3D World pretty much has the best bits of all the 3D games with some cool new ideas. I'd say that it's the best 3D Super Mario platformer. You should definitely play the rest of it if you enjoyed the Galaxies and 3D Land.
