Mario was only ever technically from the real world in the original Mario Bros.

It was retconned long ago (and most certainly confirmed) with Baby Mario being in the Mushroom Kingdom for Yoshi's Island. He's from the Mushroom Kingdom.

Saw the screenshots of the City level and thought 'wtf is this gooseberry fool' watched the trailer and it looks awesome.

Koopa kids are not Bowser's kids anymore? That's gooseberry fool and Bowser Jr is a banana split, he should be banished from existence.

Can't wait to just poke around looking for little secrets. It's what I love about 64, even now I can find the odd little secret mushroom or warp point that I've never come across before.

Hate the style of that city though, just looks like some fan unreal demo.

If only it were as good as some of the stuff fans knock up these days!

Some interesting things just confirmed by Miyamoto in the treehouse session:

1. The style of this game is more like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.

2. In the circle of hardcore --> easy --> hardcore Mario games, this game is back in the "hardcore" sector.

3. There will be a large variety of different locations.

4. Lots of input from the young designers - but the team that did all the Mario 3D games are working on this - so will be amazing!

Someone at Nintendo needs to make the best of a awful looking stage and okay a cover version of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind.

The city level will be ace,Nintendo aren't Sega, so they'll do it right.
