I'm also randomly missing one or two captures that I've no idea about considering I've maxed all measures in all levels up to this point.

Up to around 780 moons now... Still not touched Darker Side of the Moon.

I think there's 1 or 2 captures you don't need to get to get all the moons, so are easily missable.

Here's one I missed:

You can capture the fire piranha plants by kicking a rock to towards them and capturing them after they eat it. The bottom of the mountain in Luncheon. Kingdom is a good place to do this

Pretty sure that is one of them. Thanks!

That could be the one I'm missing too. I got the slime spitting plants though.

Others probably easily missed:

Cactus in Tostarena and Taxi in New Donk - though I think they've both got moons attached.

Turns out there were two: the one Tomous mentioned and the other piranha plant one which spits the purple toxic stuff.

Also got all 82 tunes now and broke the 800 moon barrier.

It's almost over... :(

New DLC for Feb, some sort of online balloon game (Luigis Balloon World I think) and new costumes. Only had a brief glance of a Twitter feed I'm sure someone can link something seeing as I'm 'supposed' to be working..

I’m up to 172 Moons and it’s going along nicely now.

I think I’m on my way to New Donk City and this is just brilliant.

Up to 600+ moons now, I noticed you can buy some in the shop. Are these instead of collection or needed to get the full amount?
Saving for the skeleton costume

The moons in the shop are to top up your moon count in case you can't find enough.

So you should be able to get all moons without buying any?

I think one bought moon per kingdom is part of the total, any more you buy are just considered "extras".

I think I'm done.

880 moons, secret final boss beaten.
Am I done?

Pretty much. You can buy power moons to get to 999 but it takes a good few hours of farming coins so I didn’t bother. You get a very minor reward for it.

Had my first “strawberry float this game” moment. Must have died 7 or 8 times trying to get through the underwater part on the early forest level, but I just can’t avoid these strawberry floating enemies (that you can’t kill) and it’s infuriating.

Guys what am I missing?

I think I'm around 5 Moons from a total completion. I've yet to do Darker Side gauntlet yet, nor the skipping/volleyball advanced challenges.

The other two are the KEEP poster found in the sand kingdom - yet to work that out (have tried Bowser's Keep, checking the building/road shapes in Metro Kingdom amongst other things - It may just be in Darker Side which I've not been to yet? Anyway happy to keep working this out myself).

But to get the Moon for all coins collected I also need two final purple coins in the Metro Kingdom. Is there any particular, frequently-missed pair that I'm missing here? I feel like I've exhausted all nooks and crannies, indoor areas and most bonus areas (taking a look just in case even when Cappy says there's nowt left to see there). Also things like the festival and even scouring the city inKoopa Racemode and so on.

What gives :?:

P.S. Best Mario Game Ever I reckon.

Use this map:
http://m.uk.ign.com/wikis/super-mario-o ... rple_Coins

And visit all the locations with two coins. There’s only 6-7 of them, won’t take you long.

I found the IGN guide really handy for finishing up purple coins. Since you're missing two, I'd try 4-5, 18-19, 23-24, 39-40, 51-52, 53-54, 55-56 and 89-90 in that link.

EDIT: Beaten by my own brother D:

Thanks to you both anyhow!

Browsing through that that list, I can't believe I've missed any of those but I guess I must've - will take a look.

Thanks again!
