That was a couple of weeks ago. Now on 524 moons having beaten the Darker Side mammoth gauntlet bit. Took me about 2 or 3 in-game hours, such a slog but so much satisfaction at completing it. Gonna get back to polishing off the remaining Moons and purple coins now - got all I can after a relatively thorough exploration of the first half of the kingdoms, onto Metro Kingdom now!

A Fairytale of New Donk? I'd be up for that.

Alternatively, I'd love to see remakes of the Super Mario 64 levels with all-new power moons to explore and find.

Oh god yes give me that gooseberry fool all over my face!

I have to admit I was wrong about this game on a whole from the first video I watched. Still enjoying finding moons. I do dislike new donk city but probably in a minority on that one.

Playing new Donk City gives me horrible vertigo. Genuinely, when I get high up I start feeling sick and dizzy!

You'll probably also like this, which is a much more intricate description of beating a particular Mario 64 level without jumping:

Well 530 moons in and this game has just wowed me further, found multiple enterences into the odyssey, found out you can play catch with any dog with your hat and you can jump on the world on the odyssey to play a strawberry floating tune!

Well done Nintendo, well done

Struggled on my last couple of goes on this, then this morning in a short 15 minute stint before work managed to get about 8 moons in quick succession. Have to be in the right frame of mind to play this to its fullest potential, really tests my feeble brain at times :slol:

Ha, me too. I died a fair amount of times before realising it was actually very easy.

Great game though, and I have lots more moons to collect.

Yeah, skill wise it's not actually that difficult. You basically need to learn each section. Once you figure out each section they tend to be quite easy. The problem is it takes time to keep working up to the next section and then spending time working it out.

If you watched a walk through before attempting it, it wouldn't take you that long at all.

Spent an hour last night trying to hunt down 3 purple coins I'm missing in the Ice Kingdom. Couldn't find them. :x

I'm also randomly missing one or two captures that I've no idea about considering I've maxed all measures in all levels up to this point.

Up to around 780 moons now... Still not touched Darker Side of the Moon.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I think there's 1 or 2 captures you don't need to get to get all the moons, so are easily missable.

Here's one I missed:

You can capture the fire piranha plants by kicking a rock to towards them and capturing them after they eat it. The bottom of the mountain in Luncheon. Kingdom is a good place to do this

Oh absolutely, but my point was, the difficulty comes from investing the time to learn the course rather than the skill and timing actually required to do it, which I think is unlike previous Champions Road esque 3D Mario levels.
