Probably the only release I was interested in. Looks a bit trippy though! Mario has finally ate too many shrooms.

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2

Can't watch as at work but the stills look wonderful (heh)

Everyone can agree that the "new" art style is tired but you can't argue that Nintendo are the kings of platforming, buzzing for this.

Any game you can play as toad is a plus. However any game with daisy is a minus

I think the style looks way better than the NSMB style :D

And the designs/animation somehow look like bona-fide characterful sprites but refined, instead of just 3D on a 2D plane.

And the knockabout dynamism of the wonder stuff looks great too.

This looks fun (and funny! Actually laughed at the end) and I'm very Not in the NSMB Appreciation camp.

The art style and animations looked much better than NSMB to me, loads more personality.

If you also look at the movement and animations it's LEAGUES ahead of the "new" art style. It's not even in the same ball park.

The main cause for concern is the logo. It's clearly part of the NSMB family.

It isn't Super Mario Wonder for example - it's Super Mario Bros. Wonder. :dread:

The Super Mario Bros name goes back to the NES era, I think Nintendo are just using that for 2D Mario with "Super Mario...." used for 3D Mario.

Nintendo themselves see this as the "next evolution" for 2D Mario, so I'm very much expecting this to be a lot more than just another NSMB with better graphics.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder: The next evolution of 2D side-scrolling Super Mario Bros. games is headed to Nintendo Switch! When you touch a Wonder Flower in the game, the wonders of the world unlock – pipes could come alive, hordes of enemies may appear, characters might change their looks, for example – transforming the gameplay in unpredictable ways. Excitement and different surprises await in each course. Super Mario Bros. Wonder features Princess Peach, Princess Daisy and Yoshi as playable characters, in addition to familiar characters like Mario, Luigi and Toad. Plus, Super Mario Bros. Wonder sees the debut of Mario’s newest power-up, which allows him to transform into Elephant Mario! What other wonders could this game contain? More details will be shared at a later time, so please look forward to it! Super Mario Bros. Wonder launches for Nintendo Switch on Oct. 20. Pre-orders begin today in Nintendo eShop and in the My Nintendo Store on http://Nintendo.com
