If it's less like Brawl and more like Melee I'll be a happy chappy.

Is the 3DS version going to be a different game or a down port?

Nothing about it really says WiiU, could be a Wii game.

Looks to be the same game with a slightly different art-style.

Would be great if there is cross-platform play or an interaction between the two games.

Visuals do seem a bit Wii like:

A Brawl pic for comparison.

Agreed, but if it was coming 2013 at least it could be the game they could point to to save the Wii U for Christmas. Instead they have to point at Super Mario 3D Land S and pretend to smile.

In fairness, Brawl is stiil a heck of a good looking game. I like the slight cel shaded look of the 3DS version to. The Donkey Kong screen.

Right now it looks to be a different version of the same game. All the stages revealed for the 3DS version look like they're based on Nintendo handheld titles (Spirit Tracks and Nintendogs) in comparison to the Wii U's battlefield and hype arena.

I totally do this thing called StreetPass UK and it's real good like.

Loving the look of the 3DS version, they've gone with a look that suits the system.

Really don't like the 3DS graphical style. It didn't work for Street Fighter IV and it won't work here.

The whole concept of Smash on 3DS is a little beguiling. What is there to offer in terms of a single player?

Glad this is coming out in 2014, something to look forward to. By the end of the year, there will be more than enough Wii U titles to keep me happy. Wind Waker, Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong, asking for more is just greedy.

No pleasing Nintendo fans, is there?

I don't know, but I'll be playing local multiplayer on the 3DS version a lot.

High score target smash would be great, too, if scores are sent over StreetPass. Or a huge Event mode with, like, a hundred challenges.

Well for me I'm looking for a reason to actually buy the damn thing and I'm struggling.

Wind Waker is a remake of a game I didn't think was that great the first time - and the sheen is marginal.

I've never really liked the Donkey Kong series - sue me.

Mario 3D World looks great, and I love love love 3D Land, but was expecting something a bit more epic for a Wii U title.

Besides that I do like the look of The Wonderful 101 and theres no doubt that I will have the console once Smash Bros is out, but man - so many of these experiences are already available on the 3DS. Think thats where I'm gonna be channelling my money for a while.

I think people have a genuine reason to be a bit dissappointed that so much is waiting until 2014, we expect better in a consoles second year.

Very excited to a new installment in my favourite multiplayer franchise, looking forward to what other new characters will be included. Can't say I'm too fussed about the 3DS version.
