If I remember correctly they are noteworthy for having a 3 metre long wire.

That's the one. Had to import it from Play Asia but got it using a discount code so it ended up being relatively cheap.

Waluigi is the ultimate example of the individual shaped by the signifier. Waluigi is a man seen only in mirror images; lost in a hall of mirrors he is a reflection of a reflection of a reflection. You start with Mario – the wholesome all Italian plumbing superman, you reflect him to create Luigi – the same thing but slightly less. You invert Mario to create Wario – Mario turned septic and libertarian – then you reflect the inversion in the reflection: you create a being who can only exist in reference to others. Waluigi is the true nowhere man, without the other characters he reflects, inverts and parodies he has no reason to exist. Waluigi’s identity only comes from what and who he isn’t – without a wider frame of reference he is nothing. He is not his own man. In a world where our identities are shaped by our warped relationships to brands and commerce we are all Waluigi.

I shall write my Waluigi piece.

And more to the point, how does renowned football-hater Karl know who Ribery is? :?:

Genuinely no idea who that is. The copypasta - which I had to repost as it had me giggling for a solid five minutes  - originates here: https://theemptypage.wordpress.com/2013/05/20/critical-perspectives-on-waluigi/

Spoiling the Mario Party is also pretty good.

Haven't been keeping up with Smash 4 Trournaments as much but watched the end of Hyrule Saga last night which was brilliant. Mr. R coming inredibly close to breaking the curse. But the game of the whole event has to go to this insane set between and Mk Leo and Elegant. One of the craziest ups and downs I've seen ever happen in this game, good lord.

Ramin vs Dabuz was the best set of the tourney imo. Just a shame Dabuz SD'd at the end

I watched that leo vs elegant set live. I got in trouble for screaming at how it ended. It's easily one of the top 5 sets of all time.
Also suggested viewing:

Arguably the best player in the world losing to arguably the worst character in the game. Contender for the biggest upset of all time.

Leonardo vs Troggy was the best set of the tourney imo.

Great play from Zaki but I couldn't help but wonder why Leo didn't switch to literally anyone else.

Cloud/Dedede is 7:3 in Cloud's favour. Leo didn't know the match up, if he switched he would have had to start over in learning how to play against Dedede.

Guess he felt that game 1 was a bit of a fluke, and, you know, Cloud should be beating Dedede anyway. And that line of thinking was vindicated in game 2 when he won fairly solidly, so of course he would stick with Cloud.

In that last game his game plan was fine but he got nervous/choked, and lost his first stock in a dumb way.

Mr. R was playing like different game in some moments lol. The last game had me rolling my eyes, but I guess Bayo gonna be doing Bayo things at the end of the day.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned here but Ultimate will be playable at CEO this week so will be hype to get more impressions from folks. Curious if it will be an updated build or the same one from E3 >,>

I always take cloud mus with a pinch of salt considering he's one of the few characters who's actually a joy to fight since you can actually gimp him. Leo has a Bayo tho. No excuse. Considering how he still brings out his Marth and Metaknight from time to time, I don't think Leo is overly concerned with 'mus'.

Not sure I agree. Multiple mains/secondaries points to the player not liking certain MUs. I'm sure confidence/pride was also a factor in his choice. He, being the top player, doesn't feel he should swap character even if he drops a game. I don't even think he made a bad call since I feel he was on track to win the game but made a silly mistake for an early death - something which might have happened with his other characters (he hesitates by the ledge, just hanging there until his invincibility runs out as a gordo is coming).
