Stuck in the 1.4mill GSP range with Doc in this never ending loop of wins and losses. This is suffering on a new kinda level.

So World of Light is too big really isn’t it?

A 10-15 hour campaign, with some more story (and cut scenes) would have hit the sweet spot I think.

I've played it for over 20 hours getting all the spirits I can before moving on and am not at all feeling fatigued by it. I'm really enjoying it actually. It's also the way I'm unlocking the fighters.

Another day of pretty much rock solid connectivity online for me. The only issues are occasional disconnects between games. Obviously this is not ideal, but it does encourage me to change my character more frequently.

So I probably played like less than 10 online matches and got to 1.5 mill GSP for Falcon and got Elite Smash. Sitting at 1.6 mill now. Kinda takes away the whole 'elite'ness of the mode really...

Put in about 5 hours to WoL this evening, really enjoying it. The world map is a joy to explore and the constant barrage of video game art, music and characters is just so much fun to surround yourself with. Some of the difficulty spikes are bloody stupid and it sucks there’s not a proper story but I’m enjoying it as it is more than I thought I would.

Finally got online yesterday so I thought I’d take a stab at seeing how many characters I can get elite with. Some characters are really bad now, Mario has been super neutered and the matches turn into camp fests.

Pretty far in WoL. I think I'm a bit behind most as while I've put 25 hours into it, I'm getting the the spirits and characters I see on the maps before moving on. Like, the portals on the map all have stars and so on.

Had my first proper session with random people online tonight. Some matches from background match-making and some arena battles. Was a lot of fun. Decided to try out Chrom a bit more and stuck with him the whole session. Gelling with him a fair bit. Possible 'main', though there are a fair few characters I want to try out that I've barely played yet or not really even played at all.

I finished World of Light yesterday and all of said challenges on the Challenge Wall, I've also obtained every single spirit in base game too (1297)

I now have 7 challenges left to do then that'll be whole of challenge wall finished, but it won't be easy as I suck at Cruel Smash (3 Kos in cruel) and getting meteor smashes (3 or 4 meteor smashes Vs 4 lv9 cpus in smash mode)...

A bit confused with how GSP actually works now, because after reaching Elite with Doc the other day, I've now seemed to have lost the spot without even doing anything? So the points system is constantly changing? I guess it kinda makes sense, gotta be able to keep up with the best but a little whack you can just suddenly lose it from not playing them.

Yeah I read the GSP you need to be Elite with a character is rising all the time.

I'm just trying to reach Elite for my own self gratification. But having to grind so much with sub par online is testing my patience lol. Yesterday I fought some monster who had 1 stock and no platform omega for his rules and it really broadened my perspective with how some people play this game "">,>

Why there should be a standardised competitive mode for things like this. When you get 2 stock games or gooseberry fool, hazardful stages, it really invalidates the whole 'elite' thing.

Controversial opinion time: being able to deal with a lot of different scenarios, stages, and battle conditions makes you more ‘elite’ than someone who can beat anybody else as Fox only, no items, Final Destination. I won’t be playing much online, mind, so I can say that without fear of much consequence. :P

You know who’s really elite? The person who did that Smash Bros./Rhythm Paradise mash-up above. They’ve done a Sumo Bros./Manzai Birds one too (it’s in the mentions for the other one).

I agree with all of this. Especially the Rhythm Paradise bit
