You need to understand just how cool and awesome this character is though. Hes a complete badass and totally unique.

He's a puppet inhabited by a star. While this is indeed 'cool', I'm not sure it's 'totally unique', and it definitely doesn't justify the silly amount of fanboyism he receives. Heck, of the two new protagonists introduced in Super Mario RPG, Mallo has more of a personality.

Least all the five dlc characters will all be newcomers, just hope they're wild choices and not safe ones.

It doesn't really matter - Geno is coming. :wub:

Geno has no chance. He'll be a defensive move of another character like Toad is for Peach and you'll all like it.

Ubisoft has a pretty decent shot of getting in, as well. They're pretty chummy with Ninty right now and have had a couple of Mario crossovers. Rayman was also mentioned in 4, so I'll put that in the maybe pile. Geno is a very solid shout and I'd be surprised if it didn't happen as he polled extremely well, but SE could push for Sora to promote Kingdom Hearts. Monster Hunter already has the assets for a stage with the Rathalos boss arena, and it seems a bit of a waste to just have that as a story boss.

Then I guess the last two could be Nintendo slots, but I'd probably prefer more 3rd party characters. I guess Banjo could be a thing if MS are indeed looking to get into talks, and I'd really like another Bamco rep in Heihachi, even if that is more Sony.

Saw a leak saying Cygames was one of the calls, which just seems really out there. Is there any connection there? Because they're really low down the list of expectations.

I think Rayman is a good shout. Would be a fairly easy character to do move wise too. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a rabbid assist trophy too.

Do SE own Sora? I’m sure I’ve read Disney do which could make it more difficult.

Maybe, I haven't really followed the Spirit list.

That said, we could just get Chrono as another SE character and give him Goku alt colours.

Just to clarify for those that might have missed it, Geno briefly appears during the Online Arena segment in the Direct. It goes by pretty quickly.

Sakurai confirmed none of the DLC will be echo's so that throws Zack outta the door for Cloud. Chrono would legit be an internet breaking reveal tho holy heck.

I think so but I really don’t think that rules him (or anyone else) out at all. I mean there are no hard and fast rules anyway but I do appreciate why people think once a character is confirmed as an AT they’re not going to be a playable character. I don’t think that’s the case for spirits though.

unlike with other games dlc where it wasnt clear what we were getting (hyrule warriors, breath of the wild) i dont think ill pre order the fighter pack i dont fancy the chances that all five are characters id want to play as

I really wish Rayman makes the cut for DLC, Ubsioft deserves a character in Smash considering how close they are with Nintendo atm.
