Pretty happy with the echo fighters we have already. Always wanted Daisy. Really like the inclusion of Dark Samus, Richter and Lucina too. But off the top of my head I'd like Shadow, Blood Falcon, and Jeanne (Bayonetta).

I can see this being done as DLC along with Rex/Pyra + XB2 echo, Springman + Ribbon Girl as an echo.

Maybe it's because I've been playing them but I want to see some Resident Evil love in Smash. Leon/Chris and Jill/Claire would be nice. It probably won't happen as Resident Evil has never been strongly associated with Nintendo despite REmake, Zero, 4 and the chronicles games all having been timed exclusives.

Blood Falcon has always been in the game - Captain Falcon’s red costume switches to Blood Falcon’s emblem, knee pads etc. It seems like a waste of space to make that a separate echo fighter IMO.

Spring Man and Ribbon Girl are lame. Put Mechanica in Smash Nintendo you cowards.

Put somebody from ARMS in Smash at any rate!

Spring-man is the face so when they get to him I think he's a definite. An echo could be anyone though I guess.

It'd be such a massive snub to not have ARMS in this game. They have Pictochat for god sakes, we've got to get a stage bare minimum, but the fact we have not seen anything ARMS makes me think we may yet get Spring-Man.

Me and my mates have been talking about if there was one massive character reveal left who would make enough of a splash for that reveal to be worthwhile. Like, Spring-Man isn't going to cut it.

I could only come up with two that kinda fit in with the Nintendo museum feel, and that is Banjo-Kazooie and Leon. The first would be insane, but it feels doable.

Crash IS possible, but if its Crash it could literally be anyone such is the looseness of the connection.

The one I would really like to see who I think is an important enough character to be included would be Chun-Li. The first proper female character, synonymous with Nintendo...I could see it.

I love the enthusiasm for Smash that comes across in this thread, but I still struggle to understand the popularity of the game, or the level of attention / priority that Nintendo seem to be giving the franchise!

I remember Smash coming out on the N64 and thinking; "here's another C-list Nintendo franchise". In my head it occupies the same spot as things like Mario Party and Dr. Mario. I mean look at the box art for it, this was clearly just a throw away release:

Now Smash seems to be getting a ludicrous amount of attention - E3 was essentially devoted to it and it seems it's going to be the sole focus for directs for the foreseeable future. I'll probably end up giving it a go, and will no doubt realise it's amazing, but it still feels weird to me that this thing has ended up getting as much, if not more attention, than Nintendo's real heavy hitters!

I was aware that Blood Falcon is represented by an alternate costume Captain Falcon has. I'd still think it'd be cool if he was his own character or echo. Different personality, voice, lines. Falcon has always been one of the most enjoyable characters in the Smash series so another variant of him wouldn't go amiss (Ganondorf obviously being a (slower) one). Would hardly talk about wasting space when it'd be just one character out of 70-odd though anyway lol, and it'd be relatively easy to make.

Jenuall: It was very much an experiment on the N64, and I don’t think even Nintendo had high hopes for it, but let’s not forget that so was Super Mario Kart. Turns out that allowing people to enact their fanfictions in officially licensed style was really popular, and it snowballed from there.
