I don't even have a switch so I wasn't sad about lack of content in the direct. But it was pretty cool to see all this community brought together by Nintendo themselves and the sidecuts, interviews etc. It really gets you excited about something bigger than the game. I'm sure smash and splatoon fans will be very happy and I'm both so good.
Yeah inklings look to translate really well. I played smash 64 and melee a lot, I've not really appreciated smash 4 although I have it on both platforms.. I should play more online matches.
I like the changes towards more aggressive play. Chicken/aggro-ing while amusing at a high level can get pretty annoying, I never did pick up shielding dashing and rolling all that much, I prefer to go all in and use items defensively especially tossing. There's something about this version that appeals to me.
Biggest thing that has me concerned so far is the knock back. Looks a bit too much but I'm sure Sakurai will be taking notes from all the players feedback. They are listening which is good to see.

I think there’s about 125 ever.
Pretty clear where this is going to go. It’s going to have every stage ever.
When they announced this would have every fighter ever in Smash the next logical move would be adding every single stage as well (being as this is the ultimate version) so this will be amazing!
Just need to see the single player content now, if they have another adventure mode that would be the icing on the cake
I wish that's what they'd done with the stage on the Wii U once Miiverse went down tbf. Just hundreds of similar "Kirby is a THOT", "CHOKE ME HARDER DADDY GANON" posts.
So been scouring the net every now and then for information, sorry if already mentioned:
+Game is quicker +Only 1 directional air dodge +Lessened magnet hands +wave landing +simultaneous grab clashes +Supposedly more accommodating for aggressive plays (unconfirmed) +Stage hazards can be turned off
o Moves are apparently quicker in general, however bare in mind the speed of the game is quicker; this may translate to no difference
-B-reverses removed -Air dodges can only be performed after a certain point of your jump; no wavedashing -You get your air dodge back if you get hit -You can mash out of Ganoncide -Dash dancing appears to be like Smash 4 (unconfirmed) -Rage still exists (unconfirmed)
I'll probably turn my thread into a tournament/league thread when the time comes.
Jumping off of the ground is faster for every character. There's no jumpsquat at all and it looks like the timing is the same for everyone - 2/3 frames.
Landing lag from moves seems to be lower across the board. Saw Link land with down-air a few times in gameplay footage and it looked like there was barely any cooldown.
Dash dancing does look more like its equivalent in Smash 4 but apparently it is a bit looser. And you can do any move immediately out of a dash. I believe you can interrupt dashes with smash attacks as well.
-You can no longer run/dash or walk through someone's shield which is a weird change. The person's shield just gets pushed. I guess this could generate different kinds of plays but I'd say not being to cross someone up by running through their shield is a negative, albeit a minor one I guess.
Ledge trumping is back, as opposed to ledge-hogging. In layman's terms, you can grab the ledge when someone else is grabbing it, bumping them off. Whereas in games prior to Smash 4 you can't steal ledge like that. Would say I prefer the latter but I'm not too bothered.
You need to time dropping your shield to power-shield now.
I hope they allow wavedashing in a later build. Even Zero and the other Sm4sh players want it in - it's just a good movement option. Not saying that I think they'll add it though.
I'm tentatively optimistic about the game in general. The tournament play did resemble Smash 4 a lot but obviously the meta is barely developed. It could look like a totally different game when it does develop, like Smash 4 did over time (helped by patches but you know).

To further what Kriken King said, yes, you can cancel a dash with anything! Jabs, tilts smashes, you name it. You can also cancel a dash's turnaround animation with anything except shield which is interesting to say the least.
@shy guy 64 yes there's an odyssey stage as shown in Mario's showcase video.
Nana apparently can't grab, so no chain grabs. You also apparently flash yellow after being grabbed, which then goes away to show when you can be grabbed again.

This apparently might be one of the bugs Sakurai mentioned he saw during the invitation. Can't fully confirm it's the case, but he's already taking notes to improve stuff which is impressive.
Here's a neat break down from from Max which goes into a lot of stuff.
