This would be the actual roster I'd have in mind if I got the game (not in any meaningful order).

Would of put Daisy there but realistically I probably wouldn't play her that much. Like that she's in the game now but Peach isn't really my kind of character. Always wanted a Castlevania rep in the games and Richter is one of the cooler ones, so in he goes, and he looks great here. Rosa was my main main character in Smash 4 for the longest time, so would probably still play her a fair amount regardless of changes.

In terms of heavies I like Bowser and like the look of Ridley a lot, but I don't play heavies too much.

The characters I'd want to play the most would definitely change a lot if I played the game for a bit I imagine.

Hang on, are the three starter Pokémon separate from Pokémon Trainer now? I noticed all four are listed individually. I didn't play too much of the Wii and 3DS games, but I was fairly sure that Pokémon Trainer used all three in the Wii game and then they removed him and just had Charizard in the 3DS/Wii U iteration.

No, they aren't. I guess it was just so it was easier to display which pokemon trainer pokes you'd be most interested in playing as.

It’s one character but in the character numbering their listed individually. The big change in Ultimate is you don’t get punished for playing as one Pokemon-in Brawl, they’d lose “stamina” and their attacks would get weaker, forcing you to change.

These are the 9 which I've thought about most. I chose Duck Hunt, Isabelle and Villager for their character and like the idea of getting good with the rest.

I've used Link has my main since Smash 64 but I used Samus more in Smash 4 where I also became quite familiar with Sheik, Marth and Shulk. I'll try to mix it up with everyone (and did so in Smash 4) but the 5 characters above will be my first ports of call next Saturday. I doubt that I'll have time to play on Friday but I hope to have some time on Saturday evening.

My main focus will be with the top row and the will try to pocket and dabble with the bottom row.

Going GC pad docked via the Wii U adapter, hoping to play a bunch undocked so I hope attached joycons work out well. Truth be told I'm a bit worried about the right stick placement there being conducive for Smash
