I think it was the inflate command that used to get me. Hold button down, waggle stick up and down.

Don't get me wrong, I'd defend most Amiga games all day long, it was just a touch convoluted at times. Still lush for its time, though.

That's the first thing I noticed  He looked just as smug 20 years ago too!

Indeed, I'm pretty sure that Superfrog is stolen right from the boxart who also featured in the Eric Schwarz cartoon intro.

I wonder if they've got Eric and Allistair Brimble back for this?

"The Bug" was usually recommended for Sensi.

I think it's what Sensible playtested it with.

Comp Pro was nearly nearly as good as the Cruiser, should have been OK for Putty

I never got to use the Bug, but then I didn't really play Sensible Soccer. Although I did play a lot of Sensible Software's Cannon Fodder.

I had the Zipstick: loved it.

I remember Amiga Format creaming over the Bug at the time; it looked too 'out there' for my simple tastes.

I had loads of Joysticks on Amiga, can't remember which one it was (could have been the Competition Pro) but I went through tonnes of them, broke the microswitches every other month.

By the way that Putty game has been coming out for years, remember reading about it being an iOS title ages back.

I'm pretty sure I actually saw it as a budget title on PS1, once.

Of course, it was one of those dirt cheap budget releases, so I guess it could have just been someone "borrowing" the boxart or a release of the demo version.

I played some serious games of SWOS in my time. Those sticks got hours on end of punishment till they just broke, it was the price of winning.

Also, the bug was a rubbish joystick for people with tiny, tiny lady hands :shifty:

i do briefly remember that but as a kid i couldn't be picky with joysticks as i didn't exactly have much spare cash. What i had though worked well with loads of games still including Zool and r type.

My mate had the bug and I remember it being a noisy bugger with loads of micro switch sounds.
