I'm very confused by your agenda in here skippy.People are saying maybe she doesn't fit the role based on her look but being an actor and acting in something is highly based on a look and the rest acting at least when its video media. Calling people misogynists due to this is just stupid and by the way i'm not going to get into some big debate about it all but your comments are a bit daft that's all.

Helen Slater was fit though.

John Wesley Shipp says Supergirl will crossover with Arrow/The Flash -

Shipp also seemed to confirm that CBS’ Supergirl would definitely crossover with the rest of The CW’s DC shows, something that has been talked about but not cemented.

‘Supergirl’ Picked Up To Series At CBS

Supergirl, the superhero drama co-created and executive produced by Greg Berlanti, is flying high at CBS with an early series order. As part of the deal for the project between CBS and Warner Bros. TV, the network had an early deadline to make a decision on the pilot, a perk reserved only for the biggest producers in town that CBS also has bestowed on Chuck Lorre. (CBS, which presents next Wednesday, usually doesn’t start making orders until Friday or Saturday of pre-upfront week.)

Starts in November (Mondays) in the US -

SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant (Golden Globe Award winner Calista Flockhart), who just hired the Daily Planet’s former photographer, James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), as her new art director. However, Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime. Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Arrow”), Ali Adler, Sarah Schecter and Andrew Kreisberg are executive producers for Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was directed by Glen Winter (“Arrow”).

Not seen the trailer but flicking through the GAF thread it seems to be 75% Positive & 25% Negative on the trailer.

This looks horrific. I know I'm not necessarily the target audience but strawberry floating hell.

Also if this exists in the Arrowverse (was that confirmed? Even though it's on cbs?) then how the hell has superman existed with no mention before?

I've just watched the 6 minute preview. Considering I wasn't too keen on the casting it looks like it could be fun. Like a chick-flick movie. Benoist has a gentleness about her. She seems ditzy and sincere and I like the whole Super-girl / Super-woman conversation with Calista Flockhart which is a tongue-in-cheek up yours to those who expect a superhero entertainment programme to be a commentary on women's lib. I've read almost nothing about the new series so from watching the preview it seems like either she will have no secret identity or at least 3 people will know it which is too many. The love interest seems like a drip. The origin setup looks good but what will be important is what will be the format for weekly episodes and all the stuff with David Harewood, I hope it's not her solving crimes for the army. I've yet to watch Arrow or Flash but yeah, I will watch the first episode. Job done.

Looks alright to me? I mean, have you watched the Super Girl movie with Helen Slater in it? How cheesy was that?

Plus she's pretty hot!

Looked pretty good to me. Great effects for a TV show.

The trailer is pretty spoilerific though. Basically condenses the first episode down to 6 minutes.
