I can't play this weekend as I don't have my consoles with me.

Have they upped the gore in the multiplayer in this? I'm sure there's a lot more blood......

Financial Plaza is a little bit like Checkpoint, but better - there's a lot more impetus to have a wander about in the middle, as there's no big-ass quarantine wall in the way. The side areas have more going on structurally as well. Not much in the way of verticality either, which I prefer. Great map.

I'd definitely be up for getting in on the online if and when I'm around. Never actually played the online at all though so not sure how much use I'll be. :shifty:

Don't think so, they were just unplayably good, sprinting death squads all using strategist 3 so you're never facing anything but 4 guys all of whom are dead shots.

You can't play people like that unless you're in a well drilled team of four yourself.

Yep.
The problem is a decent team using that tactic is almost unstoppable but it's just not fun to play which is why we don't do it.
There is no scope for using the roles in the game with that tactic as it's all just about moving in a blob and attacking relentlessly which is notwhat the game is supposed to be about.
The multiplayer now is nothing like it was in the begining and the changes are not for the better. The games with death squads are fast and furious and not fun at all.

Today was the worst SS ever. We played for only 25 minutes. A Fade no-show as usual of course.

Sorry I couldn't help but taking a console to my nans means taking a tv as well so it's not particularly viable.
So it was just the 2 of you and why has Fade decided to start not bothering?

Chalk briefly mentioned this tonight. There's been so many updates that it's been impossible to keep that fine balance.

It felt like the game used to have a nice little rock paper scissor style approach when each setup beat different load outs in different scenarios and a well balanced team could use tactics to beat opposition.

Now it seems like on the PS3 at least the only tactic is swarm at 100 strawberry floating miles an hour and if you die no matter because you'll spawn in the swarm 2 seconds later. Maybe there is a way to beat it but it really doesn't feel like there is.

If the tournament plays like that then we stand no chance :dread:

It also completely negates a lot of abilities as theere is no point being a stealthy assassin as you will never be able to kill all 4 before being killed and gifting is pointless as the game doesn't last long enough to get enough supplies to make enough gifts to be helpful.
It limits the game to just being in a huddle and running round like bonkers which while hugely effective is no fun as it involves no thinking other than I must stay in the group.
I feel my support character type is now completely useless against a team of rushers as we all need to be responding once we get attacked or we die and once we do engage it they keep on top of us with strategist so I never have a chance to heal anyone or get to a box.
If the game had started out like this there is no way in hell survivor sunday would have lasted this long.
