They'll never make this.

N64 was nowhere near as popular as the NES/SNES and, like Sega, they can't be bothered to properly emulate games from their 3D consoles.

This is almost as bad a hot take as all the "wHaT gAmEs WoUlD tHeY eVeN pUt On iT wItHoUt RaRe'S gAmEs?1?!!" shite. Were you still living in a Sony bubble at that time?

Could this be the first sign that the Nintendo idea that they are going after a different market segment finally being turned into action?
I can see the benefit to both Nintendo and Microsoft if they both decide to work together and make games together. I don't see Microsoft wanting to enter the handheld arena at this late stage and I can see a Switch being seen as a great complimentary machine to a Xbox.
It could work.

Let's not forget the great divide that still exists between Xbox and Nintendo

The position of the face buttons

After being Xbox only for the 360 generation the adjustment to the Wii U controller was tough, as Id see a button prompt for A but Id be pressing B. To this day I have to remind myself of the button order when playing on Switch.

It's why I can't play xbox

Nintendo has it correct, the right button should be the confirmation button, just like circle is on PlayStation

I always get mixed up when switching between Nintendo and PlayStation; confirmation is made via the right button (A) on Switch but the down button (X) on PS4?

Edit: Although I know that the PS' right button (O) is confirm on Japanese models :-).

It's just habit, though. Every time I use a PlayStation controller I struggle because I don't know where the square or the triangle button is, and the analogue sticks are in totally the wrong place. I'm sure I'd get used to it eventually if I played with one exclusively.

Well yeah 100% it's habit. Nintendo/xbox confuses me more because when I read "press A" on screen I instinctively go for the Nintendo A position. At least the PS face buttons are unique (unless you count cross as X).

I learned the Xbox button layout before the Xbox, during the Dreamcast days:

True fact: I borrowed MGS3 from a friend at school and had to ask them the next day how to get past the title screen  (you had to press circle instead of x)
