I'm posting from my phone, the tabs refresh each time I switch, so I can only copy and paste one thing at a time.

I'm tentatively excited. I absolutely adored System Shock 2 and would almost certainly put it in my top 10 games of forever. But at the moment, all it is is the name with no sign of Ken Levine being involved (that has its positives and negatives these days). I'll follow it but I'm not willing to put my money where my mouth is.

SS2 is one of my favourite games.
That concept art though...first person Deadspace confirmed. Which I have zero problem with.

This is awesome news, I'm just worried how it'll be funded and if it'll compete in today's world.

System Shock 2 is a brilliant game, and I'm sure that Ken Levine was certainly a part of that, but there were a lot of clever and talented people from both Looking Glass and Irrational that made that game what it was - several of those key people are now working at Otherside who are going to be making SS3, and I'd be very surprised if they didn't manage to pull in more of that talent (even if it's just in a consulting capacity).

Also Ken Levine was not in any way involved in the first game so I don't think his absence would be the end of the world. Although again I would imagine he'll have some role on SS3, similar to how they have pulled in Warren Spector as a consultant on the new Underworld game.

For me this is very exciting news, Looking Glass made some amazing games and if a bunch of those guys are coming back to have another go then personally I am more than happy to throw a few quid their way!

"When the opportunity to have a bigger role in bringing Underworld Ascendant to life, as well as playing in the System Shock universe once again, helping to bring these games to a 21 st century audience, I just couldn’t say no," Spector said in a statement. "Working on System Shock was one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done in my career and it’s hard to describe how much I’m looking forward to sharing with players what SHODAN has been up to since the last game was released.”

Thank the heavens. I would be gutted if I couldn't buy this as it's right up my street, even though I'd no doubt gooseberry fool myself several times.

Rapidly-greying is Mediocre to Average at games :fp:

Given the success of Resi 7 I'd hope they add in PSVR support.

That would be both great and horrific. System Shock 2 was properly terrifying.
