T-shirts

There's a debate raging in the office here, and of course the obvious solution is to seek GRcade's wisdom.
There was a whole other debate going on before this, but one strand of it has dominated discussion:

Which kinds of t-shirts are acceptable to wear?

These are the options and some of the comments.

Plain t-shirts
"it's simple, does the job, what else do you want"
"they're so boring!"
"i always wear these, can't be doing with any shite written on my t-shirts"
"looks fine as long as it fits properly"

Plain t-shirts with a small logo (usually on the left chest; think CK, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, etc)
"these look tacky"
"why would I want a company's logo on my shirt?"

T-shirts with full images (back and/or front), be it company logos, brands, characters, slogans, etc.
"these are fun!"
"i'm not 12 anymore"
"good if you're an attention-seeker maybe - why do people feel the need to tell everyone else what they like?"

If there's anything GRcade loves it's a pointless argument, so please put forward your thoughts and I'll share them with my colleagues. Only then will we have the answer to this crucial issue.

I don’t really give a gooseberry fool what anybody else wears.

Personally I prefer plain t-shirts or t-shirts with small logos on.

I’m struggling to form an opinion one way or the other to be honest.

I’d guess I prefer plain t shirts but I don’t think the other types are necessarily bad.

I would like to wear cool & funny nerd culture reference t-shirts, but I am too much of a square. I just wear a shirt and trousers literally all the time. My fashion choices are grey and empty, in reflection of the rest of my life.

At least I look professional :simper:

I wish T-shirts were acceptable workwear in my office

I think the only *plain* shirts I've got are like undershirts. The rest are like graphic tees like qwertee or patterned ones. As long as it's not a football shirt or #nsfw then anything should go, really.

I'll wear plain or full image t-shirts, but I'm very picky about the image as most are just shite, so I only buy them rarely. Haven't found any small logo t-shirts I like, but I'd be open to them if they had videogame/pop culture logos (the Metroid ball/lightning logo, Star Wars etc).

Plain t-shirts, for cheapness. Kinda grew out of logo tees after a while, they just aren’t really me.

Most of mine are either plain or have random writing/images on them, I have a few with brand names on them (currently wearing a light blue Gap one) but I've never been too bothered about that.

Plain all the way for me, usually from a 3 for £X deal in Next or Gap.

I haven't worn anything other than plain t-shirts for about 10 years now.

Okay that's a lie, on special occasions I wear pants as well.

Plain or striped tees for me. Cheap, never look tacky and are more likely to go with other articles of clothing.

Have had a good deal of picture t-shirts in the past. Had a Smash one I liked a lot but it's a bit too faded now. A Led Zeppelin one I wore because I liked the design and it was funny annoying people who knew I didn't even listen to the band - now it's a bit holey and has shrunk a bit.

I don't like the small logo t-shirts but I have a few. The less noticeable the logo the better.

I had a job interview over Skype last week and when the interviewers appeared on screen my instant reaction was, "Oh thank God, T-shirts!".

I got the job.

Currently wearing an Autobahn t-shirt. I look so cool. :datass:

That feeling of relief when you interview somewhere and see casual clothes is something I wish I could bottle. The one company I worked at with a strict dress code was easily the worst working experience of my life.
