That second one is an odd dog stance.

Couple of kitten shots with my new Lumia 1020. Not bad for a phone, didn't play with any of the Pro cam stuff just using Auto at the moment.

I love this one - a leaf, in a forest, which was dangling by a single strand of cobweb. It's not perfect but it was moving around so quickly in the wind it took me ages to get anything even this sharp. :fp:

Different leaf, same forest:

Trying to be urban. I'm not sure it suits me.

Very nice, especially the leaf with the droplets.

Kind of trippy:

And I just got a scanner so here's some more film stuff.
This one's from a few years ago:

And this is from a roll I developed myself:

I think that if it wasn't so expensive I'd never shoot anything but slide film.

I love that one. I like strong reds in photos.

I honestly doubt I'd have made inroads into being 'into' photography if it was all still on film, for exactly the reason you mention. My technique frequently relies on taking enough images and hoping one comes out ok - which is obviously a bit amateurish but it generally works for me. Of course you couldn't do that with film.

I do realise if digital hadn't taken off, you'd just learn to be more judicious with the shutter release, btw.

I think that's part of the reason why I like film photography so much. I think it's a good way to get me to consider my shots more carefully, which I don't do enough of when shooting digital. When every press of the shutter costs ~100kr/£0.50 I have no choice but to stop and think about the shot.

Not knowing how it's gonna look until after it's developed is great, too. Makes for a nice surprise. Kind of makes me want a DSLR with no display.

Some more from the slide film, which I had to leave under some heavy books for a couple of days to straighten it out.

I took this photo in Malta a couple of years back, and as much as I love it, I would really like to change it; take its washed out color and "unwash" it, make the colours stand out more, sharpen it up, that kind of thing.

Image

Using Picmonkey's Auto Adjust feature (because I have no Photoshop skills), this is what I came up with:

Image

How does it look? Is there anything I can do to make it look better? It would be nice to have the sky look more... skyish, but I think I'd need a professional 'shopper to clean the top up enough to where a nice blue sky could be plopped in and not look like ass.

Unfortunately your highlights are totally blown, meaning that white is as good as it gets. You've done a pretty good job on bringing the colour back though, but you'f need someone nifty in photoshop to clean up the rest.

I'd straighten up the left wall a bit, put a nice blue sky in and tighten the layout up with a slightly off centre crop to focus on the middle a bit more.
