PostTake-Two: 95 million copies of GTA V sold
by Garth » Tue May 19, 2015 1:29 am

Good lord

The info comes from Take-Two's financial statement:
Grand Theft Auto V has now sold-in nearly 52 million units across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

http://ir.take2games.com/phoenix.zhtml? ... ID=2049380

That's apparently more than GTA IV and San Andreas combined

Update: now 65 million!

Update 2: 75 million!!!

Update 3: 80 million!!!!!

Update #: bazillions!!!!!!

I'm yet to buy it, once. I feel all special now.

I have bought it once and been given it once as a present.

52 million is incredible even with repeat sales.

Bought it 3 times - twice on ps3 and once on ps4. It really isn't that great a game after completing it once. The controls are not that from a real top game imo - unbelievably shoddy!

It's not a great game after completing it once and so you decided to buy it twice more?

I have triple-dipped. I originally bought it for PS3, then PS4, and now I have it on PC. I regret nothing.

Bought it for my son on the 360 and for myself on the PS4. Probably be the last GTA game I buy as find them kind of boring.

52mil

That's got to be in the league of best selling pieces of entertainment ever surely.

I wonder how much of that success trickles down to the people that made it.

GTA V has outsold the SNES, Megadrive and N64 and is not far off the 3DS. In fact it has sold more than the Gamecube and Xbox combined.

How do they sell 52 million copies of one title and still make a loss?

Or am I not reading it right?

Mario Kart Wii is still the best-selling game on one format with about 35m 8-)
