The most impressive sales aspect of GTA V is surely the PS4 version, which a sold 6m on a user base of 21m. That's some attachment rate (although still not as impressive as Mario Kart 8's attachment rate of 50% - 5m out of 10m Wii U owners 8-) )

Well deserved.

Bought it twice and it is still a fantastic game.

Never completed it on 360 and sold it. Fancy getting it on X1 but the price point is too high for a port.

Bought it twice. Once on 360 and the PS4 version. The online is top banter at times when you have a group of mates on and it's still my go to game.

I bought it once because that seemed like an appropriate amount of times to buy a single game.

Incredible, my question still stands. I wonder how much of the success trickles down to the individuals who worked on it.

Very little would be my guess. The people doing the core work probably get scraps from the top table by way of bonus pay if a game does well.

In my opinion, GTA V is the best game ever made. They richly deserve the sales & money its generated.

Or am I not reading it right?

Revenue was an extra $1B in 2014 (when GTAV was released). Costs did not decrease as much as revenue.

That's a pretty good deal, no?

Excellent game and well deserved sales.

That's strawberry floating absurd.

I haven't contributed to that number at all. Maybe if I get it cheap.

No idea. Would it still be capitalism if they were on a percentage deal instead?

*shrugs* I dunno what their bonuses are and so cannot say. Getting a bonus is good, yes. Depends on how much and if it scales with sales.

If my using 'scraps from the top table' reads as though I have a problem with the system then... well, that's probably correct. But I don't mind that much because TT at least seem to plough a good chunk of money into back into their games.

That's what happens when you don't control the means of production.

I bought it on sale for the PC. Quite like what I played.

I'd held out on the PS3 version for either the PC or PS4 version, got it on release and still haven't finished it or bothered with MP. I think the last mission I've completed was one were Trev chases down a military plane and flies a smaller plane into the cargo bay before killing everyone on board and stealing the big bastard plane. Don't get me wrong I'm not taking my serious arse time with it because it's bad, it's good but nowhere near best game ever for me.

I have never bought it, but that seems to be offset by the number of people that have bought 3+ copies. What is wrong with you people!?
