I don't get the obsession with "pulled meat" (snicker) either.

It seems to "oh look it's so tender it falls to pieces".

More often it's just scrappy bits of meat piled together.

Its supposed to be tender meat pulled off a bone but in most places you just get shredded pork covered in sauce that isnt actually all that tender at all. Ruining the good name of pulled pork.

And "pulled" chicken can strawberry float right off.

Real pulled pork is very good. Cooked for hours pulled off the bone.

Fast food pulled pork is not the real gooseberry fool.

To be fair my main experience is the £5 burger and a drink at a Hungry Horse.

I'm not sure I've seen pulled pork at it's best.

Pulled pork is best when it's home made :datass:

Pork shoulder in the slow cooker for 8 hours (insert book writing joke) with some cider, chilli, onion, garlic, paprika, star anise, thyme, halved orange and salt/pepper.
Take meat out and shred it (you could use a feather to shred the meat at this point). Set aside.

Take liquid from the slow cooker and reduce that gooseberry fool till its thick and sticky.

Add it all together and eat with strawberry float loads of guacamole.

I think, think, that maybe the man works as a staff writer for Vice Sports and maybe had a free hour one afternoon for a throwaway article that filled a little bit of space and made a few people go 'huh'.

I also think that maybe this isnt the greatest crime that has ever been committed against journalism.

Properly prepared pulled pork is to die for.

Cheap imitation pulled pork is gooseberry fool.
