I'm surprised by the number of people on here who get their grocery shopping delivered. I've never done it, and can't really see the appeal. It's so convenient just nipping by the shop on the way home from work, and picking up any extra bits I need for that night. Maybe if I planned ahead, I could order all the food for the week, and get it delivered, but my fridge isn't that big, so it would need to be a couple of deliveries a week. Then having to faff about with delivery slots, and waiting in. I quite like going to do the big shop to stock up at the weekend, too. Actually looking at all there is available is usually a good way to get ideas for a couple of meals, rather than having to filter through pages of options online where you'll miss most of the stuff you're not explicitly looking for.

Yeah, I don't like having to wait in for a delivery. Rather than just sitting down and chilling out, I spend the time looking out of the window and getting agitated  :fp: . I prefer to walk and manage things to my own schedule :) .

I live about 2 minutes from a colossal Tesco Extra... Yet I don't do my shopping there.

We've got a good few supermarkets within a mile so I'll usually go to most of them in one go. Waitrose and m&s has fancy stuff I like, morrisons or lidl for the most part, and I'll pop to tesco express for potatoes that I can't be bothered carrying home. Also that's like 5 different reduced sections to fill the freezer. Though since lidl opened I've not really bothered with that cuz I can get a full weeks shop for £40.

48% of the UK are now doing their grocery shopping online in some capacity according to research last year, particularly amongst 25-34 year olds, so it makes sense its popular on here, though incredibly the supermarkets still haven't figured out a way to make it profitable.

Most people down my street have a car and yet everyone is having home deliveries. Same with takeaways, especially Deliveroo. As an aside, Domino's now deliver to my street again. Celebrate good times come on!

Doing a supermarket weekend stock up? Why don't you just run me down in a car and get it over with.

I can see the appeal of buying your bulk house stuff online, not having a car at my new place is just a nightmare to grab loads of things at one time. For meals, I like to look around and see what takes my fancy.

M&S food is great, but the problem with shopping there is that the use by dates are almost always rubbish. You couldn't really do a full weeks shop in there once a week since most of what you buy will barely last half that.

But you should never be doing a full weeks shop at M&S anyway

True enough.

I also learned tonight from Neogaf that Americans don't have Egg Cups and that they eat Boiled Eggs with their hands. What the strawberry float is wrong with that country?

What?! How do you eat a soft boiled egg then?

In an egg cup, dipping toast soldiers into the yolk and scooping the rest out with a spoon.

Sorry, that should have read how do they eat a soft boiled egg. We eat soft boiled eggs in the same way here.

Dug out an old iPod to donate to the ward because I'm sick of having to listen to skipping CDs the boys don't strawberry floating look after. Some belter songs on it.
