It should be a prerequisite for the forum games but it never happens.

You can't stop people talking about whatever they want in TCRT, that's what the thread is for. Forum game chat happens for a few days at a time a few times a year, it's not a big deal.

No, it's not a big deal, but TCRT tends to be evolving chat. Talking about one thing, then another, then another, and it moves on. If lots of people want to talk about one specific thing, then surely that's why they are given the capacity to create threads in Stuff?

The beauty of TCRT is the fact it's usually pot luck: you might like what you get, you might not, but it's almost always entertaining to the casual bystander. Just not when there'a a game on.

I'm sorry, Buff, am I distracting from all the discourse in this thread? Is that it?

Hmm. I get what you're saying, but I also think it's not the kind of discussion for which a separate thread would be appropriate - because 'official' or 'sanctioned' spectator / death posting threads tend to impact the game - and it would be a shame if there were nowhere on the board for people to post the odd smiley or GIF relating to an ongoing game. It's a shame that we can't have a general chat thread that actually welcomes all general chat, but if there's a genuine consensus for using TCRT for a specific, prescribed form of 'general' chat then in principle that should be respected.

Since both sides have understandable points, and it's a yes/no question (no room for compromise) there isn't a way to resolve this amicably. My call is that for at least the rest of the current ongoing game TCRT should be used, then we can look at it again next time (particularly if someone says something earlier -- the current game is winding down now anyway).

Can TCRT not be used for discussion about forum threads, there's the feedback section for that

TCRT is more serious business than I thought.

Anyone familiar with the comedian Bill Burr? I've just started watching some of his stuff and I'm not 100% sure if I like his style or not. I don't know if he's being intentionally inflammatory for the lolz or if he's doing some kind of metacomedy where the joke is that his jokes are offensive jokes and people are too PC to laugh even if they want to kinda thing.

Bit odd.

I think he's being deliberately provocative. I quite like him. He's not hysterically funny but he has quite an endearing style. A bit like a drunken uncle who says mad gooseberry fool to upset relatives at a wedding.

I don't mind the game chat, but a summary of events somewhere would be nice.

strawberry float reading through 53 pages of, "I think X is a bad guy!" "No, you are!" just to find out why people are laughing at Staydead.

I just hit my biggest single wage ever and bought a sofa.

Did forget I've got Fringe festival and a trip to Italy to buy fancy shoes this month.
