I haven't met anyone famous. I did send Rolf Harris a letter when I was younger. Never got a response. The banana split.

Worked with a guy who was an actor. just did extras work and went on about all the people he'd met. He obviously had though at some degree. We're sat in the day area of the ward and a Touch of Frost comes on.
There's my colleague as a copper chatting to David Jason. The patients all laughed and pointed. That was cool.

Few months later one of them tried to kill him and very nearly succeeded.

Not cool.

To be fair - he did go on a lot about himself.
Never worked there again.
Poor sod.
Never seen him in anything since.

I've met loads of football people, but I was a sports reporter, so I don't think that really counts.

I did meet Phil Jupitus in a bar in Aberystwyth (I offered to buy him a drink, thinking he'd say, no, I'll get them, but he didn't, so I had to pay), and I sat next to Kriss Akabusi at a business dinner once. People think he's OTT and annoying, but he was a lovely, lovely man. He found out I was a sprinter and then only wanted to talk running. I only have nice things to say about him.

Years ago I did the IT for a production company, we redid their office with fancy new computers. The owner of the company was the woman who invented Teletubbies or Boobahs or Twingos or something, and her husband was Terry Nutkins who hung around and told us some stories.

Meeting Pratchett I think was my all time favourite I think. A fine man a sad loss.
:(

Close second was meeting Andy Serkis. About a month before the Return of the king.

He was awesome. My daughter was only 4.
She had the one ring on a chain around her neck. He saw it and did the gollum face and voice and reached for it. She giggled shyly.

I nearly burst with joy!

My wife used to work in make up and when she was chasing that career she worked in LA. Can't remember all the people that she's met worked with but the two names that I always remember are The Rock and that Kardashian banana split clan. What I'd give to meet The Rock.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

When I worked for a wine merchant, Owen Teale from Game of Thrones would always come to me for recommendations on mid priced white burgundy. I had no idea who he was at the time. I suspected he was some kind of actor because his voice was super loud without him even trying. Eventually one new guy started with us, and his jaw practically hit the floor when he came in once, and spent the rest of the day telling anyone who'd listen "you won't believe who was in here earlier."

Actually, that branch had a few celebrity customers, including half the BBC News presenters. I once drew a blank when serving Jeremy Bowen, and actually had to ask him what his surname was. :fp:

I don’t watch Corrie but I was in the Watershed in Bristol a few weeks ago and my mate’s missus was excited as Toyah Battersby was on the next table to us. I half recognised her when she was pointed out, but would have had no idea otherwise.

I’m not sure I’ve ever met a proper celebrity. In 1995 a friend snuck me backstage at Glastonbury Pyramid Stage and I walked past Liam Gallagher just after Oasis had finished.

Personally I met the entire cast of Red Dwarf at a convention. Lovely guys one and all.

I also sold Nicola Sturgeon socks and a couple of other bits and pieces when I worked in Next in Glasgow. This was when she was the Health Secretary (Or education, I'm not sure).

Also a few Rangers and Celtic players that would come in. Barry Ferguson bought Union Jack socks.

I walked past Bill Murray once, he was staying in the hotel I worked in, I was past him before I realised who he was. Same thing happened with Whitney Houston in Universal Studios.

Im just the worst for meeting famous people.

Met Johnny Depp in full Captain Jack getup while they were filming Pirates 4 at my old work. I was allowed to stand behind his starting mark as he filmed a scene (it was the blink-and-you'll-miss-it scene where he plucks his hat off a horse before the big London chase scene). Speaking to his handler after, he told us Depp was super down to earth but strawberry floating hated unauthorised pictures. Campus security later found a pap wandering around disguised as a student with over £10k's worth of camera equipment in his bag.

Clearly, he's never been to Singapore!
