Bizarre episode of Golden Balls today. Bloke with a combined £19k on his front row was voted out in favour of keeping another guy who had £2.5k and no killers were on show. Bananas.

Toby Carvery is for povvo scum.

I don't know if I've ever been in a Toby Carvery. These type of places become much of a muchness when travelling to me. Just as long as you can get a beer and something to eat it could be a Harvester or a Wetherspoons for all I know, especially as it's always summer and I'm sitting outside anyway.

They sit alongside the likes of Wimpy and Little Chef as places I frequent once every 5-10 years in parts of England that still feel like 1996, and where the food is always cheap and overcooked.

There's one near us, and we went late one Sunday, after a long day driving when we had no other easy options. strawberry floating hell, it's rough.

A school dinners-grade roast, in dirty surroundings. Everything was strawberry floating sticky.

I'd only ever been to independent carveries before, where they lather the meat on your plate. The guy was rationing it out. Shite.

But isn't Toby Carvery a carvery so you have to queue up for your food

I have to say that I've never experienced any problems with Toby Carvery. You do get the occasional unsavoury looking sort in there sometimes but generally they are well behaved and respectful.

If you can't see the unsavoury sorts, you're one of them.

Yeah, it depends on the area really.

The one near us was alright last time I went, not mega but it is cheap and cheerful.
