I've been in that situation too, and it strawberry floating sucks. I really hope you speak with someone who can properly help you soon, lew. Maybe also have a look on moneysavingexpert, see if there's a balance transfer card that you might be eligible for?

And sorry to hear about your sister Craig, hope she's OK.

It was like a self fulfilling prophecy as he could never fully pay off the overdraft so they just kept hitting him.

And wouldn't you know it.. I'm also with Barclays..

Going to switch banks once I'm out of their pockets.

If it was over into unauthorized overdraft the fees do get insane so that could be why it's £85 I can't imagine £85 is the normal fee if it is they are proper proper banana splits

Would you not be able to open a basic account somewhere else and have your bills and income go through that? Keep one in the black at least. If you set up elsewhere they'd lose your business and might be a bit more lenient on your overdraft fees if they see its driven you away.

Not sure the outcome was what I wanted.. :/

They can't offer any consolidation loan or 0% card because I'm always in my overdraft each month (I wouldn't have gone if I wasn't!).
She said they can't reverse the overdraft charges that have taken me over my overdraft limit yesterday.

I was given a pamphlet and a card for a debt advise company to ring "They help people like you.. in your situation".
They open Monday so I'll give them a call. Apparently they can make card companies freeze interest and banks from applying charges. Then they negotiate with them on my behalf to work out payment plans.
Probably my best bet to get out of this scenario.

It was funny though, she took my income, deducted the outgoings then said:
"Well, you have approximately £80 disposable income each month, so you should be fine each month, in theory."

"Yeah but then you apply a £95 charge each month for going so far into my overdraft"

" :| "

I would try your local Citizens Advice Bureau - they help out a lot of people with debt advice.

CABs are hell on Earth. So, so many people wanting help, they’re really grim places. Worth a shot though, if you’re willing to wait. Good luck.

I had a problem a couple of years ago with unauthorised overdraft fees. I asked my bank to give me a no frills acoount with no benefits / no monthly fees and no ability to go overdrawn. I haven't had account fees or charges since. That's with HSBC.

Had a few beers in the sunshine. Am now sunburnt and tired. I'm such a lightweight at sun-bathing and drinking :fp: .

What did the co-writer of “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire think of Taylor Swift’s cover version?

Advice please folks: need to buy my boss (female) a wedding present. Going in 50/50 with a colleague, so budget will be around £100 total.

The company is already paying for a fancy fine dining tasting menu. We work in London if that is any help.

£100 in London gets you a mars bar and a can of lilt, so those.
