Fine balance I guess, and it depends who's paying you the compliment.

Maybe smarten yourself up a bit or get down the gym if you want to be complimented :P

I think there's a fine line difference between "You look nice" and "There's a great outfit"

The way to do it without being creepy is to say something like "Hey, I really like your style  :datass:  :datass:  :datass: :datass: 8-) :toot: "

You know, I was just thinking about what a great haircut you've got.

I compliment people often, if I feel the need to. I like getting them, so why not dish ‘em out? Spread the love man, make people feel good about themselves, there’s enough hate and misery in the world. If they think I want to strawberry float them or whatever, that’s their problem for taking it the wrong way.

Whenever people compliment me I feel they're taking the piss and it makes me feel worse.

I was at KFC the other day and the guy in the window said he really liked my car. That happens from time to time and it feels nice.

I was at a party on Friday and loads of people said how good looking I was (really) which felt super strange and awkward.

Especially as it was a party for 6 year olds.

I compliment people all the time, feels good.

At work I don't go beyond nice outfit/haircut though. Gotta play it safe.

I used to think like this too. They're not mate, so try not to worry.

I was in the room when it happened and the guy (who comes across as perfectly nice and normal) said "you're looking very nice today, I like your outfit". That's all he said and she took it as a normal person would without getting offended. I think the fact the girl is a bit of a stunner is a factor in this, if she was a heffer no-one would have batted an eyelid.

Where do you all stand on giving compliments to people at work? Personally I wouldn't want to be seen to be a creep even if saying something completely innocently, so I normally avoid paying a compliment unless someone puts it out there that they've had their hair done or got a new outfit or something.

I would feel fine complimenting a guy I was friends with in the office, I think -- in fact I'm sure I have done, just can't recall any specific examples. No way would I ever compliment a woman at work though, even if we got on and it was perfectly innocent -- I would be far too scared of becoming the subject of a Twitter hashtag. :slol:

I do it all the time. It helps if you wipe the drool off your mouth beforehand, have a healthy relationship with the person and a basic understanding of human interaction.

I compliment people from time to time, or just try to make an observation, like oh did you get a haircut? I think you shouldn't need to worry about stuff like that, but there always is that chance that things might get taken the wrong way.

I'm honestly starting to understand Pence's stance on never being alone with a woman who's not his wife. :fp:

See this is exactly why I dont bother talking to people, I fail on all 3 points!

Also I reckon that it would be seen as a compliment from a well dressed handsome chap and its unwanted harrassment when its a fat bloke in a Super Mario tshirt so I keep schtum.

So I've been signed off work. Had 3 seizures the other night and I have no memory of it happening. Been to the hospital about it and they've given me a good going over and referred me to specialists in Liverpool.

Anyone else have seizures and stuff?
