I didn’t click it because there is no way I would date an Asian woman in Dorking.

Anywhere else would be fine, but there’s no way I am going to Dorking. :x

Working fine for me in good old Great Glasgow and Clyde NHS. Also there's a garden area for staff to smoke despite the ban on site. And you always get twice as much break as they tell you.

The funding difference between my usual mental health areas and general is insane.

I think the people behind me are talking about bingo (I missed the start of the conversation). Crazy lady is on form.

“My next door neighbour won the national”
“Wow, lucky her! How much did she win?”
“She won £150,000.00!”
“Good for her!”
“She died a week later”

It’s ironic like that Alanis Morrisette song. :slol:

I thought that but what they were saying didn’t fit with horses. After I posted they started mentioning bingo so I think I was right.

Bit of a scandal at work today - a guy in our office complimented a rather attractive girl on her outfit today, and some people have taken umbrage to this and played the "is he a sexual harasser" bingo card. I was in the room when it happened and the guy (who comes across as perfectly nice and normal) said "you're looking very nice today, I like your outfit". That's all he said and she took it as a normal person would without getting offended. I think the fact the girl is a bit of a stunner is a factor in this, if she was a heffer no-one would have batted an eyelid.

Where do you all stand on giving compliments to people at work? Personally I wouldn't want to be seen to be a creep even if saying something completely innocently, so I normally avoid paying a compliment unless someone puts it out there that they've had their hair done or got a new outfit or something.

I never compliment anyone and I hate small talk in general. Safest option really.

Conversely, I'd actually quite like to receive a compliment once in a while (from someone other than my wife :shifty: ). I reckon there are so many people out there with low confidence or self esteem that would be cheered up immensely by having someone say they think they look nice, it can be such a small gesture that can be given innocently without coming across as lecherous. Fine balance I guess, and it depends who's paying you the compliment.

I once told a bloke I liked his suit. In 2018 that would be seen as an attempt at bummage, therefore it's best to say absolutely nothing. In fact don't even go near anyone unless there's 4K CCTV.

I now hover hand my Mum just to be on the safe side.

Maybe smarten yourself up a bit or get down the gym if you want to be complimented :P

I think there's a fine line difference between "You look nice" and "There's a great outfit"
