That's...actually really heartwarming :simper:

Pleasantly surprised?

when i got home yesterday i showered and changed all my clothes - apparently the pollen adheres to your hair/body/clothes so change them ASAP when you get home to lessen the symptoms. seemed to work.

I can't stop sneezing, no matter what I do. I haven't had hayfever this bad in a long while.

Sorry to hear you guys are suffering bad! This has actually been the first year in a good while where my hayfever doesn't seem to be too bad - normally I can't go more than a few days within May-July without being basically a wreck!

Don't tablets or nasal sprays work for any of you guys?

Nasal sprays only work for a few minutes with me, then I'm back to sneezing and having to blow my nose every couple of seconds. Tablets don't seem to work on me either.

There are 2 different types of tablets - Loratadine and Cetirizine Hydochloride - neither are 100% effective. I find the cetirizine ones are better, but I'm still sneezing and getting itchy eyes for spells throughout the day. The nasal sprays are just liquid versions of those 2 drugs, so the results are same.

I used to get hayfever but I eventually manned up and grew out of it. 8-)

Actually I moved out of the countryside and into the city and I don’t suffer so badly now. If I go into the countryside though it comes back with a vengeance.

The cetirizine ones work pretty well for me these days but that wasn't always the case. About 10 years ago I always needed a beconase nasal spray and eye drops otherwise I couldn't go outside. Thankfully, I think the symptoms aren't as bad as I get older. Nearer death but less hayfever! Swings and roundabouts.

I'm a Loratadine guy, but they only work for me if I take them first thing in the morning. If I've started to suffer with symptoms then it's too late, 'aint nothing stopping my nose running and my eyes turning into the red pits of hell!

Cetirizine all the way for me. In a previous year I had it recommended to me to alternate each year, so I tried the other stuff and it did absolutely strawberry float all! The cetirizine isn't totally effective but it certainly helps to reduce symptoms. Nasal spray seems a bit hit and miss, sometimes it feels as though it's helped, other times it doesn't seem to have any effect.

The thing that annoys me most about my hayfever is that it came out of nowhere - the first 20 years of my life I never suffered at all - I used to think "what on earth is wrong with these 'hayfever' sufferers!". And then suddenly, BAM! I hit 21, summer rolls around and I'm practically on the floor because of bloody pollen!

That's annoying. I used to use loratadine and it was great, then it suddenly stopped working one year so I switched to cetrizine and it took care of my symptoms 100%. Couple of years ago I stopped using them altogether and I've pretty much been fine since, maybe the odd sneeze here or there but that's it. Must be frustrating if nothing works!

Blame the Italians - usually a safe option!

Despite it being annoying I do still find it fascinating how the body can suddenly start/stop having a reaction to something - what is it that changes exactly and why?
