They built a new helipad at a local hospital near me, it was big enough for speaking helicopters and stuff. However after building it it was pointed out if a speaking size copter ever landed it would blow out the windows in the next building as the pad was too close.

Three times now. There’s safety nets been put up to catch them. Also they’ve removed/removing the same cladding that was put up on Grendel. Last time I was in the fire alarm was set off and nobody could find out where it started.

At least I’m not on the wards. They’re so long you walk forever. Like, when it first opened the staff were given pedometers and we’re clocking up 10 miles or something a day. Add in heavy lifting and moving patients and generally doing the job and you’re strawberry floated by the time shift is over.

Speaking helicopters? I'd wondered what Budgie was up to after all these years.

Chris Evans' wife has given birth to twins, a girl and a boy named Ping and Pong.

I thought this was a wind-up.

It isn’t.

And yeah, I’ve not heard many great things about the organisation of the wards either. Apparently everything is in different places depending on what ward you’re in, so if you’re covering more than one ward you have to learn multiple layouts, which seems like a really basic strawberry float up.

[sarcasm]They're not going to get picked on at school at all![/sarcasm]

To be fair they're probably going to be ginger so they'll get picked on regardless of what their names are.

Aye but it should be easy to see what you’re after since half the cupboard doors have fell off.

I’m at the Queen Elizabeth tomorrow  Hopefully the building is still standing when I get there.

I heard more than a couple of sirens in the 10 minutes or so I was out in it as well.

Inside where it's nice and warm just now though so I'm happy enough. Just hope my trains are alright going home. :|

That was wishful thinking to the extreme - I had to go and pick my GF up from her office on St Vincent Street because Queen Street basically shat itself(as did central apparently). Took me over two hours to get in and out from where we live, a return journey that can be done in 25 minutes. :dread:

Yeah it was bad. Luckily I noticed by around 2ish that the trains and buses were all off so got my fiancee to come pick me up.

As someone who's been a patient at the QE 3 times since it's opened, I can attest to this. I've seen them as I've been wheeled round from ward to ward. And the wards themselves like Bunni said... ridiculously long! I'm not surprised the nurses are knackered when they walk around so much!

I wouldn't be alive today though if it weren't for hardworking nurses like you Bunni so thank you for your hard work.

The QEHB is a mental place. I've hardly seen much of the new sections, but I still prefer the old areas. At least the layout is better.

I don't know about that dude...Finding the imaging department is one thing, navigating it is like being in a maze. Also 5 years ago I was in there for 2 weeks with a serious infection and I was learning to walk again after a week of being in intensive care. They let me go down to the Costa from the ward I was and ended up on the wrong ward. I had to be led back to where I'd started by a nurse
