Are you sure this isn't a satire site? I mean just looking at the headlines on the front page, there's this...

https://www.pluralist.com/posts/1810-li ... ew_medium=[latest]

And if they're not satire, they sure as strawberry float don't know what they're talking about, I mean look at this line from the same article:

For the most part, the trailer for "Doom: Eternal" at the annual QuakeCon this weekend exhibited your average 3D third-person-shooter/alien-warfare gameplay.

> DOOM
> Third Person
:| :| :|

That being said, there was another very similar thing that happened a few years ago...

Idiots. :fp:

These people are idiots, but that shitty clickbait headline has me riled up even more. Millennial is literally only included as a function to further belittle an entire generation, and tar everyone between the ages of 20 and 38 as being just as stupid.

A couple of Vegetarian Vegan Socialist Millennial Instagram bloggers from America on a cycling jaunt across the world.

It does sound like a wind up.

I'm not sure - I did wonder when they specifically noted that the couple were vegan and vegetarian but I decided to forge ahead anyway.

Here is a more neutral source that sneers less about their beliefs. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/07/world/asia/islamic-state-tajikistan-bike-attack.html

It's an interesting study in tone and bias, actually. Pluralist doesn't at first glance appear to be a far-right source, but it has this sneering tone in almost all its articles. Reading a few articles there I think it's an Internet-centrist "everyone is dumb" source.

In particular, the Pluralist article says they "went biking in ISIS territory to prove everyone is kind". Actually the quote about people being generally nice was their reflection on their around-the-world biking trip up until that point. They weren't actually in ISIS territory either, though they were relatively close. It looks like they planned a lot and took precautions like travelling in a big group. Does knowing those details change how people interpret them?

I would personally avoid travelling to any dangerous or illiberal country. I wouldn't want to go to most parts of Africa, or most parts of the Middle East, or Russia; I'd be very worried about South America; I'd even be a bit cautious about China and, in the present political climate, the States. Yet people go on holiday to these places all the time. If misfortune strikes them did they bring it upon themselves? I dunno. Maybe, but not to nearly the extent that Pluralist wants us to blame these "vegan millennials" for their misfortune.

That kidnap victim is in the Celebrity Big Brother house... I'm hoping her kidnapper is also going to make an appearance.

Given that he's serving a sixteen year sentence that'd be interesting to see.

I'm pissed off that Jermaine Pennant is in there, getting a chance to revive his career. Dude's been caught drink driving three times - the ONLY difference between him and Luke McCormick is that he hit a wall and McCormick hit a car full of children.

EDIT: Also everyone who's gone into the house looks like they're buzzing on something - Hardeep Singh Kohli looked away with it when he was being interviewed.

EDIT THE SECOND: Nick Leeson! What the strawberry float! He should surely still be in jail! :dread:

Is there a thread on here where people post their own youtube content? I can't find anything.

The best way would be to make a thread for your videos and tag it creative IMO. :)

We have a general video thread but probably not the best place for your own content.

I'm sure someone at ITV is raiding my music library, I've heard Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal and DJ Shadow all within a single ad break.

My condolences to whoever had to go through that.
