Due to a fracas in another thread, I'm now listening to the greatest hits of Chas and Dave and, annoyingly, enjoying them.

FAKE EDIT: YouTube just autoplayed Weapon of Choice after Rabbit. Genius.

On my second week of jury service and my service has been completed today. My question to you GRcade; would you believe honest and tell work or just take the rest of the week off? Just to clarify I work shifts and was only supposed to be in tomorrow and Wednesday this week, overtime has been allocated so I'm not leaving anyone short. Also last week's service was my off week although admittedly I didn't have to do very much in that either.

What is the likelihood of someone checking up on whether or not the service was still ongoing?

In all honesty whilst I would toy with the idea of taking the week off I know personally the guilt and fear of someone rumbling me would prevent me from enjoying it anyway!

Yeah I would probably go back, then when I went back get told "it would have been ok for you to stay off you know".

That was my initial thinking but then no one have a gooseberry fool that I would be doing jury service on my off week.

My thinking is that I shouldyour say that I'm available to do the shifts I would have been doing. The problem is that some of the bosses are banana splits and would get me to come for short shifts which would end up costing me money as it's quite the commute.

I’d take it off and not tell them, and in the unlikely event I was questioned on it, say I had to keep myself available in case I got called back in.

Imagine if the juror deciding if you were innocent or guilty was as dishonest as Hime :dread:

True, we can't allow this blatant abandonment of morals to stand, time to hold Hime to account.

Take the days off. Your job doesn't care about you, no bosses care about their workers. You don't owe them gooseberry fool.

Other people have got overtime for this so you're doing them a favour also. Relax my man!

I don't, but from what I've heard don't ever smoke them all in one go.

Watched Shakespeare in Love, teared up at the end.

I have become a parody of myself.

Snip off the curved end, light it with a match (never a kerosene lighter!) and don't inhale. If it's a big one, don't feel obliged to finish it in one go.

Thanks for the tips guys. It's an H. Upmann half corona, so only a diddly thing that's half the size of a regular one, I didn't fancy wasting £40 on something I might hate.

They cut it for me and gave me a pack of special cigar matches too so yeah I'll use those as opposed to a burner.

In the same, Ad. I’ve never smoked anything in my life, not even a cigarette. I think I’ll end up liking the idea of smoking a cigar More than actually smoking it, but I’m looking forward to experiencing it whatever the outcome :toot:

(That’s a cigar toot, not a regular toot)

Edit:  @Cora
