I have always found your opposition to furry so weird in the context of what you do like.

Non-mainstream subcultures always look a bit weird from the outside -- be it a niche hobby like sci-fi or anime, an aspect of your identity that falls outside of societal norms like being LGBTQ+ (particularly the TQ+ bit nowadays gets a hard time), or something that kinda straddles the two like being furry. The more out of the norm something is, the more mainstream culture will crap on it. Most people who have the experience of belonging to a subculture learn to be accepting of other people and not engage with that, but I guess some people just have a need to feel superior and direct that need either outwards back into the mainstream ("normies!!! :x ") or sideways into another subculture ("I might like anime catgirls but at least I'm not a furry!!!").

Saying that, I'm pretty sure Qikz is just joking around.

I mean in my experience there's plenty of crossover between the two.

It’s a real boner killer when somebody starts over analysing things.

The best thing is "the two" there could be any of the subcultures I mentioned.  Yeah, there's definitely huge overlap between sci-fi/fantasy, liking anime, being furry, having a queer identity... and communities that celebrate that overlap tend to be full of really nice people.

A friend of mine slept with a guy who screamed "FUS ROH DAH!" at her when he came.

She didn't message him again.
