I like the Adventure Time comic. However, in WH Smith at Bluewater they now stock it behind the counter... I had to ask for a copy as if I was purchasing something of a suspect nature :shifty: .

"Can I have one of those Adventure Time comics, please?"

Would be less embarrassing to ask for a porno mag.

The assistant was kinda okay because I had my ten-year old nephew with me.

But he was embarrassed about me buying it :( .

Adventure Time is one of those things that makes me feel old. I know it exists and is apparently a massive thing, but I am basically completely oblivious as to any real knowledge of it - what it looks like, what it's about, who it's aimed at, how long it has been around etc. I didn't even know it was a comic.

I'm slowly slipping away from the zeitgeist and becoming increasingly isolated in my own narrow frame of cultural references from 20 years ago...

I may just have to do that, is it on any streaming services?

It does have it's bonuses, it's just the slow realisation that you are becoming one of the out of touch old people. The sort of person that when you are young you can comprehend how they even exist: "how do these old people not manage to maintain an awareness of all things new? Come on Grandpa!" :P

It's one of the reasons why, whilst I certainly don't want to die young, I find it scary to think about how old people might be surviving until in the future - how can you possibly maintain an awareness and understanding of the world around you if you've lived for 120+ years, especially as the rate of change only seems to be getting quicker!

It definitely has it's moments but at the same time, I also feel like something about it is just... disgusting. Like some scenes are pretty horrific, like Count Lemongrad eating his brother or whatever he was. :dread:

Although I like Adventure Time, I haven't really seen that much of the TV series as I only have Freeview. What I have seen is on DVD and the UK has been very poorly served in that department; only series 1, 2 and 3 have gained releases here (and, even then, not the complete series as some episodes were not included).

It *is* quite weird, though... and I love it :toot: .

Adventure Time is awesome, I watched every episode in the last few months.

Same for Steven Universe. Yes, they are cartoons, but they are cartoons that are better than 90% of any other shows, live action or otherwise.

This is what their volcanic vindaloo looked like last year when I tried it...

In comparison the Phaal has an 8 chilli rating and is adorned with warnings.

Related: Hilda is good if you have Netflix. I also like Regular Show more than Adventure time, it feels like it is pitched at an older demographic with its 80s/90s pop culture stylings.

Genuine instant mouthwatering at the mention of spicy curry.

Not good when sat on a packed train.
