Dad died 5 years ago today, like I can tell you every detail of that day like it was yesterday but it was FIVE YEARS? Time is weird. I'm getting drunk and listening to music he likes (or I think he would have liked) in his memory.

I fully ruptured my anterior cruciate ligament playing five a side. They had to take half my hamstring out to create a new one.

Odd isn't it? I carry a card in my wallet with my mum's photo on with the day she died on (I was given it by a friend at her funeral and it's nice considering what it is). I looked at it yesterday and it's been over 7 years since she died, I can't beleive it really.

The people from work I was playing 5 a side with bought me a trophy to commemorate the occasion and had it engraved with the phrase "It's on the wrong side!" which is apparently what I screamed when I saw that my kneecap had rotated more than 90 degrees around my leg.

Yep I can remember every single mundane moment from that day. Something about traumatic events burning a permanent mark on your memory? I still remember the petty banana split who tried to get me in trouble at work over nothing before I had the call from mum about it at lunch time. Penis face.
