I got one serious fault and 10 minors for odd bits. I was at a junction waiting to come out, to my left there was a set of traffic lights which was red so I turned right ready to go. As I turned right, the lights changed and a car went through the lights on the left. I got my serious fault because I made that car slow down although I was moving before they was. It was only my first go at the test and I felt pretty confident that I was going to pass too as I couldn't think of anything in particular that went wrong so was actually quite surprised when he said I failed!

This may be an urban myth, but the GF had a friend who was one of those private Instuctor/testers, and he told her that you are more likely to fail towards the end of the month as examiners tend to fail more people because it reflects badly if 100% pass in a month as it could demonstrate poor testing standards and can then lead to auditing etc from the governing board.

Not sure if there is any truth in the story.

They're taking blood donations just up the road from my house, so I went in since I've got a rare blood type and like to donate when I can. Just been told that the next appointment is in 45 minutes even though there's only 2 people waiting.
What? Since when did you need an appointment to donate blood?

Telling people they need to wait 45 minutes for an appointment is just going to put potential donors off.

In all seriousness, the hassle and ridiculous wait is honestly putting me off donating again. It shouldn't need me to take nearly 2 hours out of my day to donate blood.

I have to book several months in advance. It's a bit ridiculous really. It's a specialised blood donation centre and yet they're only open Monday to Friday during regular office hours. Meaning the majority of people with regular-hours jobs either book the day off or can't go. Not exactly encouraging people to donate.
