Got referred by a pharmacist to an emergency doctor today because apparently it is a serious risk to my eye. I'm now on a course of antiviral medication that will last seven days.

Feels like half my face is burning. Do not recommend.

Jokes aside I knew somebody at work a few years ago who had shingles and it is not pleasant. I hope you get better soon.

Yeah, it can happen to anyone who has had Chickenpox in the past, as the virus which caused that can go dormant and reactivate as shingles.
