Good old MCN - always with the directness. As for the earlier comments about me. Well... I do know I'll come in for an almighty beating every time I pontificate on this most sensitive of subjects. It's expected. In my five years on these (and the previous) boards I've never changed my tune and always taken the knocks. Sometimes it hurts, but mostly I find for every ten dim-witted replies there's a few funnies and one or two actually arguing a good point (and a few cuddlies - Denster, you lovely hairy bundle of fun!).

As a child of the 70's, I just detest what Britain has become in my middle age. Worst thing is, it's my own damned generation to blame for this mess. All us hippy-kids turned politically correct and up our own arses. My generation spawned and nurtured the Nanny State we now have and look at the f*cking mess it's got us all into. I have no doubt that the bleeding hearts and child salvationists thought they were leading a charge for goodness and decency, but as they say... the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Never a truer word, etc. It grieves me to see lives broken apart by this stuff - on both sides. Issues of morality, indecency...these are in some ways so easy to decide upon. A case like the one that sparked this thread is much more difficult, much more complex, yet subject to all the same prejudices and ignorance.
