It's interesting how in cases of teachers "having relationships" with pupils, the pupil is always branded as the "victim".

I have to take slight exception to that. A lot of people above the age of 16 are less than mature.

My old physics teacher suddenly developed a relationship with one of the girls from my school as soon as she left for university. Needless to day, me and my classmates were not exactly convinced that there had not been anything going on while she was a pupil. I'm sure the fact that he left his post for another, non-teaching, job the year afterwards was not related at all... :lol:

Yeah, quite a few teachers had a thing with ex sixth formers, very soon after they left. It was pretty creepy really, there was only one club near the school and it was full of sixth formers too young to drink, a proper dive, but there were three male teachers from the school who could always be found there.

I think he's just pointing out how public hysteria about this issue has pushed legislation towards far harsher punishments.
