I loved Tearaway on Vita, so if this is a totally new game I'm all over it. I don't really recognise a lot of the stuff in the trailer, so I'm fairly confident it'll have enough new content to warrant purchase.

(...) So we started jamming and experimenting, and the result is Tearaway Unfolded – an expanded retelling of the original game, adapted for PS4, and rebuilt from the ground up to use all the unique features of the Dualshock 4, and with a bigger prettier world running at 1080p and targeting 60fps to boot.

The original Tearaway was a little papery world held entirely in your hands, and we used all the features of the PS Vita to deliver an experience that was as life-like and also fourth-wall-breaking as possible. With Tearaway Unfolded, we want to do the same thing, only this time the world is inside your TV and you interact with it using the unique inputs of the controller…

It doesn’t make sense for players to get up from the sofa, wander over to the TV and literally touch the world like they did in the PlayStation Vita version, but there are other ways you’ll be able to physically interact with the game instead.

From the comfort of your couch, you can swipe the touch pad to unleash great gusts of wind, and send them howling into the world to unfold rippling bridges or send enemies tumbling from cliffs! The power of wind can also be used to propel atoi through the skies in a paper plane, so you can explore the larger new world from above.

...

Tearaway Unfolded will be a familiar story, but with new ways to play, new places to explore, and a world that looks really rather stunning on PS4!

So a kind of 1.5 type deal; will wait for reviews.

Yeah, I was thinking 1.5 too  The only way I'm not getting this is if it's somehow a glitchy mess. Anything else and it's getting bought.

Amazing news, this game deserves to be played by so many more people than it has been.

I've watched the trailer video and this looks terrific. I've never played or even seen the original game on Vita but I like the usage of the DualShock 4 in this.

I do wonder if people new to Tearaway may enjoy it slightly more than folk who've played the Vita game; it is pretty much the same game but with substantially different controls. Maybe it has been done well enough to entertain both crowds. It's interesting and one to keep an eye on.

I don't think the Vita game even broke a million sold, which is tragic as the game is wonderful, hopefully with this release the game will hit the heights it deserves. I'll be picking it up day one, the new features look crazy.

I got the Platinum in the Vita version and I'm still very much looking forward to going through this. I think the new features combined with the fact it's awesome will be worth the revisit! 8-)

Brilliant game, can't wait to play it again on PS4 but I wonder how they will deal with no back touch on DS4? And I hope they use the PS camera

The 20th anniversary of PlayStation has been a great opportunity to reminisce about a brand we’re passionate about at Mm, but it’s also a chance for us to look to the future and what we’ve got in store for it. At the moment, we’re most excited about bringing Tearaway Unfolded to a brand new audience on PS4 and have just finished work on our first hands-on demo being shown at PlayStation Experience right now!

To mark this special occasion, we have a brand new trailer to share with you all! As you’ll see, Tearaway Unfolded brings an entirely new experience to the game, thanks to the unique features of the DualShock 4. From swiping the touch pad to unleash great gusts of wind into the world, to throwing items and creatures out of your TV and into your controller, you’ll be able to break the fourth wall and make your mark on the world, all while having fun with your messenger!

We’d also like to take this moment to wish you all happy holidays! We’ve had a busy and awesome year here at Mm, and we’re only just getting started! 2015 is going to be pretty big for us, and we really can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on. We think you’re going to like it :)

Happy Holidays everyone, have a great time!

Making of Tearaway. Well worth watching if you enjoyed the game/have an interest in how concepts evolve. Or something.

Picked up a Playstation 4 camera tonight in prep for this when it's released. Hopefully this isn't too far away from release now.
