It's similar to a scene in The Protector

Except in the movie the fight is in a burning Buddhist temple.

Am I missing something? As this doesn't look any different to Tekken 5 on PS3

There was a 360 rumour ages ago, but I think their coup turned out to be FFXIII.

Sounds like it's true from the amount of people who have seen the video, Game Director says "Game will be out in Fall 2009 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360."

Tekken isn't nearly as good as other games in the genre. It's better than Mortal Kombat, but not by much.

Fall 2009!?

Ah shite. I may have to venture into the Street Fighter world now.

Confirmed within the first 10 seconds.

Background information - for those of you wondering whether this was a PS3 exclusive, it wasn't. There was some speculation that the only reason Namco bought out Tekken 5 DR on the PSN to deliver the exclusive Tekken their E3 '05 trailer promised. It now appears this was correct.

The odd thing here is the year wait, but this is easily explained too. Tekken 6 was built on an Arcade board based on the PS3. With Bloodline Rebellion out in the arcades before the end of the year, and porting being no real difficulty, the game could have been out much sooner. I would guess Microsoft has pushed a fair bit of cash Namco's way to port it to the 360 and have the game appear on both platforms at the same time.

It was inevitable really, considering how well the 360 version of SCIV sold.
That's pretty much all the main fighter series on 360 now, isn't it?

Pretty much, save the obvious - Smash Bros. That said, I also wouldn't be massively surprised to see the next DoA become multiformat again now Itagaki has left Team Ninja.

The fact it's coming to the 360 isn't a shock but why is the release date now Fall 2009? Wasn't this supposed to be a PS3 launch game at one point? Not that I really care as I'm not a huge Tekken fan anyway.

It's a another PlayStation franchise that has gone mult platform so it is a blow but Tekken just looks so old with it's game mechanics when up against Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur and Street Fighter IV.

It is building a new identity through its first party titles now, I do not think Tekken is what it was anyway.

Tekken was in its prime on the ps1, after that it totally lost it anyway, same as ridge racer.

WRONG!! Tekken 5 was actually the best in the series and Ridge Racer 7 is bloody amazing.

Tekken 6 just doesn't look different enough to be called a sequel.
