Just finished episode 3 and I think I like this more than TWD. That final choice was something else.

Since they were teasing Episode 5's release on Twitter today, I decided to start this. I bought the season pass cheap in a sale, as I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it. I loved Telltale's first season of The Walking Dead, but I didn't know anything about Fables. I'm really pleasantly surprised, I liked it a lot. They did a great job of dropping you into that world, the art direction is gorgeous, and the mechanics seem to have evolved a little for the better compared to their first season of The Walking Dead. I'm struggling not to jump straight into Episode 2, but I figure at one a week, hopefully 5 should be on PSN by the time I'm ready for it.

The choices don't seem as interesting so far, but I'm regretting not going to check on the Prince first, as it would appear he survives if you do. But as with TWD I'm expecting some choices to come back and haunt me.

Your choices don't matter at all. Just enjoy the story.

It would seem the final episode is due next week! I can play the rest of the episodes this week and next now in preparation! :D

That bums me out a little, if I'm honest.

Yes they do.

In the grand, grand scheme of things, I'd argue no.
I thought Telltale were alternating months between this and The Walking Dead? I'm fine with this new plan, The Wolf Among Us is arguably better. Snow

Well no because they need to have a certain continuity so the writing and characters seem good.

But the choices have far more impact than say the walking dead.

Just finished it in one go, about an hour long maybe? I can't remember what time I started playing it.

Choices:

Abandoned Georgie to die. The north remembers.
Brought back Crooked Man alive for a trial.
Chose to imprison him.
Took Clementine the Frog's gift for Snow
"I've made some mistakes".

Those last two were barely choices, come on. Bigby's mega-evolution was cool but the episode was somewhat lackluster. Probably the least interactive ep of the whole game too.

EDIT: Reading the Neogaf thread has made it clear to me I completely didn't understand the ending.

Five episodes and we never got the chance to make a hackneyed Israel analogy like Bigby did in the comics :(

Have to save something for season 2.

Is there even going to be a season 2? They would have to switch away from prequel territory surely? And Telltale already have a new slate of games that will be more popular than this no matter how bad they are.

You would have thought a prequel would have been the ideal thing for a Telltale Game of Thrones game but apparently it's set present day. I need more Wolf Among Us though with more crime scenes. Give me fairytale CSI.

There's probably still room for another sequel set before the Fables comics- Snow is colder with Bigby when the comics begin than when this ends.

They retweeted something from the creator earlier today that mentioned this was the final episode in the first series. A strange thing to say if there's only going to be one series.

And done - about an hour and 15 min.

Short, and with less interactions than before. While choices seem to matter, I'm not sure all of them will have done (e.g. one of the Tweedle's seem to disappear in this, making the choice at the end of Ep3 meaningless)

Stay Silent throughout the discussion with the Crooked Man, asked who did it (not sure where the other choices went but I assumed Mary or Georgie), and then continued to stay silent, refusing deals or confrontation and just letting the fallout occur. Left Jersey and Tweedle in a bad way, and ended up stabbing Georgie before he got away.

All hell broke loose and I chased them through the streets - chose to follow Georgie. CM is a dick, but Georgie's a killer.

Although...he had his reasons...even he...the conversation seemed to be going OK, but then Vivian decided enough was enough...:(

Decided to end his suffering (although it still seemed pretty gosh darn painful!)

Pretty much got my arse handed to me during the fight with Mary, and not sure if Bigby's Mega evolution was cool or cheesy.

Spared, cuffed and brought in CM though...was a little uncomfortable letting him use his silver tongue in front of the community though.

And he was a sneaky little strawberry float. But me and Snow won them over...even got a nice hero moment with all the Fables standing against CM...until he talked his way back out! Looking grim until Nerissa turned up,,,swung back to guilty!

Said we should let Snow decide, but it ended up on me. While I was thinking CM tried to strangle me - sorely tempted to throw him down the well, but went with prison. "Fabletown will remember that" seemed ominous.

Met with Toad and TJ, took the gift and told him it was nice.

Then spoke with Narrisa - who explained everything. Tried to comfort her (by pushing her towards a cigarette...said I didn't know where things stood with Snow, and I've made some mistakes.

From the ending are we to assume the first meeting was actually between Bigby and a glamourised Narrisa as Faith, starting the whole thing off? Decided to go after her though...

Overall really good though. Not as emotional as TWD but very involving. It wasn't quite as satisfying ending to the series as TWD S1, which basically built up to it's ending. As a mystery the ending was a little more subdued and a lot more talky/explainy rather than emotionally hard hitting.

The ending was ruined for me by my stupid brain thinking of this:
