Hopefully it doesn’t involve Slybound taking money directly from Telltale for this or it would be as bad as star mentioned a few pages back. Maybe a share of the profits or something. Otherwise - very poor.

Hopefully Skybound take on at least some of the Telltale staff that were involved in the game.

Thankfully, it looks like they are:

Kirkman’s Skybound to Complete Telltale’s ‘Walking Dead’ With Original Devs

It would have been pretty gross if they didn't.

Why would anyone pick that up when it sold abysmally?

Because it was awesome and had a small but dedicated fanbase :(

If you have bought Minecraft Story Mode (season 1 or 2) as a download on any system, make sure you have a copy of all of the episodes downloaded by 24 June as it will no longer be available after that.

This could be a real pain for gamers with systems that have limited storage. "Digital gaming is the future!" :dread: .

Funnily enough I was looking for the Season Pass on PSN for S1 and couldn’t find it anywhere. The separate episodes were all available for purchase though but I declined.

Downloaded S2’s free Ep1 instead

I can't buy any episodes without buying the season pass. And I can't find the season pass for both seasons.

Seems like Sony have removed the season passes.

Digital versions of all Telltale games were removed from stores a while back.

PS3 version of Batman S1 is still up on PSN store though. It's the only telltale game I haven't got for the PS3. It runs like a dog on the PS4 so that's why I didn't snap the PS3 version up as it would probably be worse.

Might go on my PS3 and download all the Sam and Max and Jurassic Park episodes before they disappeared completely, for easy trophies. :shifty:

From what I gather Valve don't actually allow games to be removed from their servers for existing owners to re-download except in exceptional circumstances, like where the game is fundamentally broken on a technical level, and even that's happened so few times you could count the instances on one hand.

I could see the EU courts taking a dim view of people who've purchased content suddenly having it taken away from them entirely with no refunds as well.

I read there's a clause in the contract stopping them removing it completely from Steam for those who own it. Happened in the past with games being taken down and then Steam putting the files back up for download, only time it won't is if its an online only game (Like an MMO or something similar)

See, I never worry about this sort of thing. Piracy means that the games will never really be unavailable.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Telltale Games, which shut down last year, is coming back after its assets were purchased by a company called LCG Entertainment. The new company will sell some of Telltale’s back catalog and will work on new games based on a few Telltale-associated properties, as well as new licenses.

The new Telltale is headed up by Jamie Ottilie and Brian Waddle. Ottilie said that some workers from the original Telltale Games will be offered freelance roles, with full-time positions possible in the future.

Ottilie has spent much of his career in mobile games, most recently as founder and CEO of Galaxy Pest Control, which is best known for licensed games based on Duck Dynasty and Power Rangers. Waddle’s previous experience includes running sales and marketing for the Havok game engine.

In an interview with Polygon, Ottilie confirmed that the new business has back-catalog rights to licensed properties The Wolf Among Us and Batman as well as full rights to original Telltale games such as Puzzle Agent. “There are some other expired licenses that we’re looking at,” he said.

Ottilie said it’s possible the new Telltale will pick up some stories where they left off. “We’re still evaluating, but we definitely want to continue some of the stories,” he said. But it looks like The Walking Dead won’t be coming back. That license is now owned by Skybound, which has its own plans for game releases.

The status of previous Telltale licenses such as Borderlands, Game of Thrones, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Minecraft has not been announced. When asked about Telltale’s previous plans to release a game based on Stranger Things, he said that the rights had reverted back to Netflix.
