Ten years of GRcade (preparation ideas)

So it seems that GR started up on 15 August 2008... and that Garth was the first person to sign up!

I know that I'm new here (only six years) and that I haven't gone bowling and that I don't have the post count to pull this off... but maybe we could do some stuff / things to celebrate?

Logo, obvs. Maybe a "best memories" thread? Err... and other stuff? It feels like we should celebrate (commiserate) :toot:

Someone needs to activate C.Y.N.T.H.I.A.

I have some stuff planned but feel free to discuss, would be great to see the the community contributing its own celebrations as well.

I still think we should implement the forum rest button at the top right of the page.

The button would have to be clicked at least once per day so as to keep GRcade alive.

This way, its our collective responsibility.

So... how did Garth come to be the first member of GRcade? And then, the next day, a raft of folk signed up within minutes of each other?

I still think a header cycling through logos made by every member would be great fun. It'd be like sigswap but forced on everyone.

I like to imagine Garth stumbled upon his own little slice of quiet paradise on the internet, and never expected for anyone to ever actually join him. Next thing he knows he's got MCN in a towel and Denster talking about anal fisting and his peace was shattered.

Garth was the forum's admin at its inception (and still is, he's just taking an extended back seat because he's busy IRL).

The mass sign up happened basically when the URL was posted to GamesRadar.
