This really is weird. Why does the winner only get $500,000 more than a guy he completely owned? The presenter guy is hilarious. SUCH an American. At least don't make it obvious you can't remember what to say and have the strawberry floating huge cards out in front. I bet Fedbot is delighted with his Lexus though. Wimbledon is so much better.

Er.... listen to what they say? Murray got an extra $250,000 for finishing 2nd overall in the US open season, not entirely sure what that means (I assume it is taking into account all the masters and stuff, so Nadal or Djokovic won overall?).

It showed Serena celebrating after she had one a few mins ago at the end of the show. I didn't bother watching it live so that was the first time I saw it. It was just..horrible. She was bouncing up and down like some cute excitable kid. But she's a grotesque monster thing. I really don't like her at all. She's a sore loser and just grates on me. Much prefer her sis.

Im sorry for Murray but i like Federer and I'm glad he brought his 'A' game. Afetr the difficult year he has shown his class by winning this. Solid bloke. Hope he beats Sampras's record next season.

It's a shame that Murray didn't bring his "A" game, as we would have had a classic final, but all respect to Federer - he was awesome for much of that match.

He just seemed shattered after the Nadal match, it's a shame but he'll be able to propel himself from this and I could see him in the semis of all four Grand Slams next year.

When Murray's first serve percentage is high, he's very hard to beat. When it's low (as was the case last night), his second serve is pretty easy to pick off. More serving work required to make it more reliable, methinks.

I do agree, but he does have a very good first serve in terms of reliability. The problem from yesterday was that he was too tired to get the really hard ones on target, I don't think the wind helped either. Look at Federer's serving yesterday compared to the Wimbledon final, he was really inconsistent whereas in the Wimbledon final when he was a break point down he would pull out an ace, I didn't see that yesterday, I reckon this was due to the wind.

As you could see against Nadal, Murray became tired and lost his full on (120+mph) first serve towards the end. I think Murray needs serve endurance to be honest, because his serve is more than consistent enough when he is not tired.

Actually, I can see tiredness being a factor for Murray in the future. He runs soo much, and doing that throughout a Slam will make him very tired by the end. So he needs to learn how to beat people who not as good as him in 3 sets, this is one of Federer's greatest strengths, the way he flies through the early rounds. Murray is always going to be forced to use up a lot of energy in the semi's though (because he will be against Nadal or Federer most of the time), so this is just something he will have to get used to.

Not in the matches he loses. It was malfunctioning yesterday, particularly in the third set, and against Nadal at Wimbledon it was hovering at or below 50%.

I was saying that, before he gets fatigued his first serve is reliable. Both of those matches, he was fatigued.

So I was agreeing he needs to work on his serve, but in terms of endurance, so he can keep it up.
