The plot of this is such a strawberry floating mess. :fp:

TBH, the timeline has been comprehensively screwed since T2 when (a) Skynet send a second Terminator back despite the fact that the Terminator (and Kyle Reese) in T1 was supposed to be the only time it was possible and (b) the existence of Skynet is only possible because of the advanced technology recovered from the first Terminator, turning it into a bootstrap paradox, but I'm willing to give that a pass because the ending is great.

Time Travel, man. Not even once. Just don't do it. It's not worth it, it turns any story timeline into swiss cheese.

The first fifteen minutes of Back to the Future are great but it all goes downhill after that.

I saw this on Friday with the girlfriend, and another friend we thoroughly enjoyed it, and were very happy that Arnold was able to cure his arthritis by the end of the film.

I called what was going to happen to him when I saw the T-1000 reviving the young Arnie Terminator in 1984, and was absolutely certain when they mentioned that the liquid metal needed an operating chip to take form etc. near the end.

Yeah it was some pretty heavy handed foreshadowing.

So was there a post-credit sequence for this? Everyone in our cinema missed that then.

I... quite enjoyed it .

Thought the action was great. A good sense of danger. No doubt the plot itself was bordering on batshit crazy, and I'm certain there are countless plot holes.

Yeah there was a post credit sequence...

It shows the place they just blew up, there was an underground room/bunker that was undamaged by the explosion and inside is a big ball that I'm guessing is Skynet, and you see that laser/hologram representation of Genisys. So basically it survived the explosion and there will be a sequel.

If it survived couldn't it just boot up the Genisys app there and then?

They blew up all the servers that were supposed to connect Matt Smith to the Internet, so I presume not.

Saw it tonight, enjoyed it enough for a daft action film, liked all the actors in their roles.

The story is beyond nonsense now though. I'd rather they just reboot the whole thing rather than attempting to add to this bollocks.

Saw this on the Thursday it came out. As an and a Terminator fan, it was enjoyable but really isn't a great film. Arnie was great though.

Incidentally, I watched T2 a few nights afterwards; forgot how brilliant that film is. So, so good.

I basically judge Terminator sequels based on how hard they try to retcon T2 out of existence. The harder it tries, the shittier it is.

Reports yesterday the planned sequels and spin-off TV series are in doubt.

Excellent

Just saw it. Unforgivably awful and probably the death knell for the careers of Courteney and Clark (post GoT) as they were so bad. Arnie was good, John Connor guy was actually pretty alright, everything else sucked massive donkey balls. The plot was like something a 16 year old would come up with. It was so very hamfisted I'd have loved to have seen the initial pitch.

If no-one else is willing to do this then I will: Genisys makes T3 look like T2

There's a 1080p Korean subbed yarrrr copy doing the rounds for those who wouldn't be willing to part with cash to go watch it. I'll give it another watch as I loved it :shifty: and I have the LE Blu Ray pre-ordered too.
