Seriously though, proper spoiler: I heard the T-1000 saves the day at the end. Why? Because he's sent back in time to kill John Connor... not Sarah.

That could actually be an interesting, well-written twist. Which is how I know you're making it up.

I'm kind of sad DAT SPOILER won't be a hilarious surprise but to be honest I never saw 4 and it was unlikely I was going to see this either.

Answer - no idea! Suppose they could also have done that in T1, no? The "activation" would be explained somehow, but would have to come late into the film to make the twist work.

In T1 the Terminator was sent back to kill her but didn't spend time raising her while calling himself "Pops".

Maybe your idea would work if Arnie was sent back as a protector and then was "activated" when a chip gets damaged during a fight or by another terminator flipping a switch?

Anyway, your idea is still far better than what they have actually come up with. :lol:
